Not the sort of start the Sharks were looking for today being completely out played by West Perth. West Perth dominated in the centre clearances in all quarters and used the ball much better with a cleaner skill level over the ground. On a day with very few positives and a lot of senior players having ordinary games I thought young Regan showed a bit and tried hard all day off a wing. Brandon Ellis had a good game with limited opportunities up forward. Surprised that Schleicher was only given the last quarter as he showed a bit once he went into the middle. Back to the drawing board this week with some work on a very ordinary skill level shown before playing Perth next week. Hopefully we can put it down to one of those days but full credit to the Falcons who showed they will be in contention this year.

Agree with all of Observer's comments. I thought EF looked very rusty! Disposal going forward left a lot to be desired. Still lots of upside with Liam Anthony, Bradd Dalzeill and Tommy Howlett to come into the side.

Hardly sighted but in his defence the forward entries were abysmal mainly because of the pressure applied by WP all over the ground. He was no orphan i dont think any senior player can hold there hand up and say they played well.

Andrew Stephen was another that didn't play. Either way not a good result to get belted the way we did.

Put a bit of preview on WP page but mainly concentrated on WP performance that was good or were EF bad? Next week should tell the story.
It certainly wasnt very competative.. with EF getting their first goal in the third qtr.. WP defence must of done a good job but dont put it down to that.
Cant have a go at Hampson as he most probably didnt see the ball much down forward and ball delivery wasnt good if you look at the scoring by EF.
As I said in my review on WP thread WP looked like a well oiled machine and it made me very very happy to see.. but dont want to get ahead of ourselves as only a match practice.

Just gotta look at few of the NAB Cup results to see that the REAL season could be entirely different but having said that I think Malaxos has a lot of work to do and just wonder if EF have the goods this year?
Time will tell. All the best guys and as long as you take it up to EP I dont care what else happens..

EP shouldn't be anyones GF cardy!.....WP beat them last year by 100pts....yet are you happy to take that this year and miss out on finals footy 2nd year running?.....obviously I didn't see the match and any defeat in any context by over 10 goals, especially after kicking your first after half time is very poor.....lot of work to be done.....but don't mind that considering we are only in March.....if WP repeat the result next time the two sides meet then yeah I agree with what cardy is saying......

obviously WP had guys out too, not too sure which ones, but Howlett and Stephen are EF two prime defenders and considering Dodd is gone as well, those two fellas are very important to EF back line......Dalziell and Anthony are easily 25 - 35 possession winners, plus I reckon both will be good for 20 goals each this year......kicking goals will be EF problem, no out and out goal kicker, just going to be reliant upon the likes of Hampson, Lester-Smith, Perham and the mids to kick the bulk of the goals......did Reggie Jones play reserves or league?......and I for one would like to see young Jake Schleicher given a decent run through the midfield........early days, yeah bad defeat, but can only get better I guess.......well I hope anyway

Freezin in the Reserves Jones did ok Bennett and Parish very good. Dion Anthony looks disinterested half the time but kicked a few and can be dangerous.
Dylan Coultard played very well.
Seniors as observer stared were horrible all day.
Agreed with his coments re young guys that played.
I also think Scleicher should play more, he is hard at it and made a difference in the clearances as soon as he went on in last q . not sure mayby carrying injury?

With the slow indirect kick it in on top of the forwards head entries that happened on Saturday you could put Carey or Brown up there and they would struggle to get hands on it. Hampson is no certainty to repeat the same success at East as he had at Subiaco. Different Coach, game plan and players around him needs to be taken into account. Get the clearances and ball movement sorted and the forwards may have some impact on the scoreboard.
