Any chance of people at EF campaigning for a return to the club's traditional nick name 'Old Easts' and the footballer logo? I noticed, that last season, the club reverted back to something akin to the 1979 premiership jumper, nearly making the grand final.

I was never been a fan of this 'shark' mania, and to be honest, since 1983, the club has not done much at all.

Ark pretty sure EF was up there as the most successful in the 90s with 3 flags and runners up in that 10 yr period, how many flags did Subi win in that 10 yr period from 2000 to 2009?........also were strong from 83 to 88 when te logo was new......yeah crap from 2000 GF till 2012 GF.....handed Subi the flag last year with shite kicking in the prelim.......can think of a few teams who have had worse droughts than EF sharks logo reign......SD 60's hatrick till 80's hatrick.....Perth 77 till present EP 78 till now and Subi before their 73 flag......not gonna market much with a logo called Old East r u?.....not go too sure if EF market much anyway with the sharkd logo? ....always skint!

Handed Subi the flag ????? What a load of shit , you lot were deadest shit lucky that a magnificent bunch of big hearted kids & lesser knowns at Swan Districts just couldn't keep hanging in there until the absolute end in the First Semi Final

Freeze: the 90s was a good effort; I must confess that I forgot about your third premiership in that decade. Given that you have changed your jumper back to something sensible, that a move back to Fremantle Oval is back on the cards, I feel, that the mascot thing would be the perfect final touch.

The legacy of East Fremantle is interesting one too: 7 premiership since 1959, only a patch on the club's previous performances.

Freeze let last year's preliminary final go old boy -- you did not kick straight and lost to a heroic and under-manned Subiaco side. We had four first-rate players out of that side: Horseley, McDougall, Hampson and, from memory, Brad Stevenson.

In that context, it was a bloody good by the mighty fighting Lions.

There's always been this assumption in footy that points could have been goals, like if a team kicks 1 goal nine in a quarter it could have been ten straight. But the ball goes back to the centre after a goal and the whole pattern of play changes to what would happen from a kick in..
Reckon going back to old easts would be a possibly clever marketing ploy by the Sharks. I am very old fashioned when it comes to footy and have never liked the Sharks monicker much. Old easts however was unique and had a fair bit of cred I thought. As for peels monicker I think we're all agreed on the how much cred that ones got

Ark never said Subi didn't deserve to win, more frustrated at EF own inadequacy, not to take advantage of Subi's predicament on the day, but hey that's life. Probably would of been easier for you Subi boys to deal with that loss, if the shoe was on the other foot, considering Subi recent premiership success over the last decade, us shark fans have been waiting a while now.

As for EF premiership success since 59?.....fark mate every club would have periods where flags came more readily than others......how many years was it between drinks for Subi before their 73 win?.....Probably since the mid 80's till now clubs like Subi and Cl are experiencing the consistent success of what clubs like EF and SF experienced pre and post wars.......just the way it goes. EF and SF experienced success through passion and tradition, these days it's business acumen and finances I guess...... ;)

I am a traditionalist normally too but I must admit I prefer "Sharks" to "Old Easts". Each to their own as they say.

Freeze: too true -- Subi have had the most diabolically bad record of the whole competition. Goodness, if EF finished last for the next twenty years, they would still have less wooden spoons than the Lions. I am just trying to win you over on this mascot thing. This could return EF to undisputed greatness once again.
