Not a good news day all round.

Thought I was dreaming when I saw the news Josh Simpson is the new coach of Mullewa. Bit of a risky decision.

hardly surprising considering his family in Yalgoo are only a stones throw from Mullewa.....would of been great to have his leg speed down at EF...good luck to the kid....interestingly he said he wanted the Mullewa boys to be punctual and learn the importance of getting to training early and preparing properly......

Understandable that he might return there to play but to me he is a bit young and inexperienced to coach.

Be interesting to see how the kid goes.....I guess closer to home, bit more responsibility and accountability could see Simpson mature and develop. Cant see it being a long term decision as if he wants to play AFL again then he is gonna have to play in a higher league away from family.

Touch wood Simpson can fast track his life and career with this decision......pity he wont be playing in the WAFLnext year from an excitement perspective, commitment was always gonna be a sticking point, now he is gonna experience himself first hand as a coach dealing with his own players commitment ....at 20/21its gonna be interesting how things pan out in 2015 for him......

..gotta feeling he is gonna rely on his own performance to drag others along with him........not to sure he is going to naturally sacrifice his own performance / needs to develop the performance/needs of others struggling around him like a good leader does......but more than happy to eat humble pie......good luck to ya Josh!
