Good to see Anthony sign on for EF in 2015, runner up in the Liston Medal this year.......like Dalziell has good endurance and wins a lot of the footy

Best wishes to Brett Peake in retirement....touch wood Simpson can stay focused and replicate his 40 plus goals up front in 2015

It is with genuine excitement that the East Fremantle Football Club announces the return of Liam Anthony from the Kangaroos to play from season 2015.

Liam started his career at the Sharks, making the move from our country zone Geraldton, for the start of the 2006 season. He played 15 games in that debut season.

In 2008 Liam had an outstanding year, playing 19 games, collecting 26 possessions per game and kicking 23 goals for the season. That season saw him not only finish runner-up in the Lynn Medal, but also drafted by North Melbourne with pick 43 in the 2008 draft. It was his ability to find the footy and break the lines that really caught the attention during that 2008 season.

Unfortunately a foot injury delayed Liam’s debut until midway through the 2009, but in round 13 he finally walked out for his first game against the Western Bulldogs at the MCG. In an impressive debut Liam had 28 possessions. Had it not been for a few unfortunate injuries no doubt Liam would have played more than the 58 games he is credited with.

Liam comes to East Fremantle after a super season for North Ballarat in VFL. Despite still playing 4 games for the Kangaroos Liam was awarded runner-up in the JJ Liston Trophy, the VFL’s equivalent of the Sandover Medal.

Liam will begin arranging his relocation to Perth in the coming week and will arrive to train with the squad in the new year.

Liam Anthony AFL Career
•58 games
•27 goals

Anthony easily replaces Hancock who from all reports has moved to Subi......with a midfield of Dalziell, Anthony, McGough, ROB,BOB Henson and Simpson it's a good mix of inside and outside, probably need some more leg speed besides Simpson, though I reckon colts eligible youngsters in Snadden and Bennett could see some league time along with the other 19/20/21 yr old bracket in Schleicher, Hooker, Green and Barone......

Can see why Hancock has moved on..... but to Subi?(especially if Kerr and an EP mid goes there next year).....reckon he will be a fringe player there just as much as he would of been at EF with Anthony back on the scene in 2015......

pity it seems Brennans foot injury looks long term......probably need another defender....though could see Young move up back with Dodd retired.....

if fit astro, Anthony will easily be a 30 possession player.....though his disposal is questionable at times, like Dalziell's......Kerr would be the icing on the cake but TBH he seems to need to get a lot of off field issues in order first.....but in WAFL no one would doubt his quality that's for sure....

I know a bloke who knows a bloke who knows another bloke who's pet gerbil reckons that Mr Kerr could be a Shark again in the very near future. Apparently the gerbil was quite confident of this. Then again, at different times we've thought that Menegola and Simpson would both be playing for the Sharks so when the club officially announces it I will believe it then.
