Well done to Milan Murdock on his 2nd Lynn Medal. Well deserved, gutsy sort who always leads from the front. Baskerville and Jansen rounding put the top 3.

Did anyone go from EF Ozfooty cohort attend?

Have to agree, Milan Murdock was our best during season 2024. I think if Teakle had not gone to the AFL would have made it interesting, but Buddha head and shoulders above the rest (obviously as a figure of speech!). Baskers slightly down this season though that had something to do with where he was played. Janson was excellent as usual playing different roles when asked.

I went along and a deserving winner in Milan.

There was a bit of an angry tone to Bills and Juppy speech at times- urging the club to get better off the field and that not everything was done to give the team the best chance of going back to back. Still a lot of optimism going forward despite a number of players moving on- most have been mentioned already but confirmed (McDonald, English, Turner, Boekhorst, Holmes, Jupp, Schoenfeld- might have missed some).

Bill and Juppy both gave nice tributes to outgoing FM, Brad Dodd, though apparently he’s poached staff already- namely the S&C Coach. Rumours of players going also but nothing more than rumours (no names either).

Cheers KC, no doubt the playing group must be frustrated with it al, as it has gone on for long enough. Especially when the squad is in it's current premiership window..

Going off the current playing list....the retired boys have dropped off, plus a few of those reserves premiership boys in Burton and Featherstone- Aitken have dropped off as well.....Strnadica is back on, so hopefully work wise he has moved back into the metro area.

Doddy was always going to take a few, whether that be on or off the park personal. Can't blame them for seeling some security and no doubt Doddy is a good fella to work under/with

Jack Avery will be a shark in 2025,

We will always lose players but we have a good crop ofreserves and colts coming through. Having Bill in charge and Adrian Bromage on board we will be ok.

MSS83....totally agree re opportunities for young talent to come through. High hopes for youngsters in Pauline, Vladich, Sanchez, Austin, Cocking & Dean from EF reserves flag side. All works in progress for sure, so nothing is a given development wise.

As mentioned before Strnadica has popped onto EF playing list, as has former colt in Josh Browne,  a former WAFL Jack Clarke Medallist, who played 2 seasons at WCER, and this year at Williamstown. Talented mid, who along with Cleaver, will hopefully replace the loss of retired boys in Schoenfeld and Boekhorst.

Interesting you mention Avery will be at EFFC in 25? Thought the Perth boys said he was going East next year....didnt realise it could be East of Fremantle. Perhaps a player swap for Avery, with English?.....as Turner is now off EF playing list,  and apparently heading home to Tassie.

Well done to Bromage for locking away Avery, if true. He'll be a great addition to the backline.

Strnadica will offer cover should Blakiston get drafted but would he play if he doesn't? Where would that leave a Rueben McGuire, who despite injuries, found himself out of the team.

Definitely enough talent coming through - but Turner, English, Boekhorst and Schoenfeld are all 20+ touch players and it'll take a little time for those replacing to get up to speed. I would think we'd be chasing a more experienced midfielder to add - given Harry Marsh and Jansen are getting closer to the end.

Should still be a strong squad and should definitely be one of the favourites - provided we get back to the home base. Murdock on radio said the players were very tired by the end of the season - with a lot of shuffling around for training late.

Schoenfeld has a bone on bone knee injury KC, and his output definitely dropped below 20 possessions a game from mid 2023 mate. English's output dropped as well, and Boekhorst the same post his ACL. Turner for sure will be missed for his 20+ possessions each game for sure. All quality for sure, but as one door closes, hopefully others open.

I would just assume if Strnadica's doescomes back he and Blakiston (if not drafted) would share the ruck / forward duties.....though RMcGuire with his athleticism could be used up back with Jupp retiring.

Though I would consider moving  JMarsh into defence from time to time, as his height strength and speed would be handy against sides with that gorilla forward in the comp. It's good having versatility, allowing the coach options on game day and mid game...even Blakiston could be a KPP with his athleticism.
