Seems like yesterday both sides were playing up in Broome. Another big contest coming up, with the victor sneaking top spot from EP. A couple of important ins for EF in Joyce and O'Reilly....with Cleaver an out....shame that, as Cleaver has  been a bonus for EF, since his return from Essendon mid season.

Going to be interesting to see who makes the cut on the bench....especially since Ball and McGuire kicked the final two goals last week in that derby win. All to play for, for both sides.....obviously disappointing the final 5 looks pretty well set in stone already...but WP still standing....and within the top 5, not much room to move.....securing top spot will be crucial for whoever secures it.

True regarding Jack Cleaver.  A real bonus for the Sharks as he has been excellent since his return.

The bench quandary is interesting. I suspect Joyce will have to return through the ressies. This possibly allows Schoenfeld to return after a month or so of seeming to be out of favour. Lawler must surely play if fit so lock that in. English too but you never know. Ben McGuire has impressed with his skills bobbing up here and there with little cameos just at the right time.

Not sure why Austin Ball is getting a league birth over the likes of Matthew Burton or Corey Holmes who have been at the clubs for years and have done little wrong when promoted. Not sure what more Burton can do as he has done everything asked of him.

Like the weekend before wins in three grades. Tom Joyce, who came in as a late replacement for the Bull, had a very good afternoon and was arguably our best player. Jupp, Jansen, Dixon and Lawler also excellent. Lawler's 4 goals maybe the difference in the end as Claremont were inaccurate with their goalkicking. Our defence can take some credit for that too especially in the first half as they were kept busy. We turned things around after half time and restricted the Tigers ball movement. We were able to increase our I50's significantly at the same time and the goals came.

Harry Marsh was again excellent for us in the middle of the ground. Baskers, Bennett, R. McGuire and English were all very good. Down back Bailey, Eardley, Gorringe and Marlin all stood tall. Up forward O'Reilly was a welcomed inclusion and had a decent game. The win moves us to top spot on the ladder but hopefully any celebratory mood will be sobered by the prospect of next weekends top of the table clash. We may still be without Jono Marsh and Eardley too may have an injury cloud over .him

TBH the Cl, EP and Subi games are good prep for the finals. The Perth game is important too, as Perth have a knack of playing their best footy v EF, so should be a another good test as well.

The EP game is a big game for both clubs....whoever wins that just about secures top spot....which will be super important, due to the fact Peel are floating about, and like what SF found out last year, not the side to come up against in the 1st week of the finals.

Going to be some interesting selections over the coming weeks. Obviously Marsh and Murdock to come back, plus last years top 22 in Schoenfeld, Lester-Smith, Burton, Meade and Holmes all playing reserves.....the reserves are in a battle with SF for that 5th spot....which will mean all 3 teams could be playing finals this year.

Great win by the colts too....Cl colts obviously missing league debutant  in Curtin.  But EF prevailed, through Gero youngster in Jack Cocking, who kicked another bag, to help secure the 4 points. Great job by Sam Mainwairing to get the colts where they are, as they possess no out n out ruck, KP forwards or defenders.

Managed to get to this one and thought we just did enough. Claremont had their chances.
Most did well and thought it was an even team effort, however some of our decision making and skills were average at best.
On a positive we were missing Murdoch, Cleaver & Jono Marsh which will help immensely!!! Not sure if any others will make our best 22...but to have some experienced players in the ressies will be a huge bonus if required.
Big test next week against a good EP team.
