Big game this between these 2 teams.....EF win and they go 3 games clear from WP in 6th spot. WP win, their finals lifeline remains alive and kicking......definitely an 8 pt game for both. WP accounted for EF comfortably last time these two teams met. Both probably not in the positions they thought they would be mid season at the start of the season.

EF are coming off a big % boost v WCER....nothing more and nothing less.....whilst are WP coming off a bye and before that a loss v SD...who EF accounted for the week before that.

Dixon, hopefully, is over his illness, so should be an in......as a forward or as a ruckman....on paper EF have a plethora of forward options in O'Reilly, Dixon, Marsh and Leggett....with Montubaun and Lawler to provide the forward pressure.....but WP defence have always been strong and at times under rated compared to their experienced mids and forwards in terms of reputation.

Should be a great midfield contest, with some great head to head contests. Meadows had a day out last time and killed off EF with his goals in the 4th quarter. Keitel is always a danger up front, whilst Dobson seems to enjoy kicking goals v EF....regardless of which colours he wears. Plus Knott is no mug up front either. Good test for EF defence, which will face a sterner test then what they faced v WCER.

EF by 22.....but am I confident.....nope!

You've summed it up pretty well Freeze but if you lose this game you have a few more chances to survive. For us it's D-Day.If we lose we basically have to win 6 out of 6 and with a 5 - 7 record(as it would be if we lost) that's unlikely. You mentioned our forward line including Dobson and Knott - well both of them are horribly out of form.Dobson has hardly kicked a goal since the state game(and take out the eight he kicked against WC and he's kicked 10 in 10 games) and Knott has kicked about 4 for the whole season(although he didn't play a couple).Yes they are talented players but I don't feel confident that they can find the form switch and flick it on.Your forward line has way more options and form(even ignoring the training run last week). Our defence is also undermanned especially when we have to play Guadagnin as a key defender.Well here's to hoping my boys find that spark that gets them over the line this week otherwise 2024 planning starts this weekend.

In Mitchell's defence he has just graduated from the Police academy and is working nights, 4 hours sleep before a match does not make for game ready.

Thanks for that Grump.I was aware that he was in the police force but didn't know his work arrangements.Would certainly explain some recent performances on so little sleep! It's an interesting one when things like that arise in that how the selectors handle it - do they play him when his shifts are different or run with it and hope for the best.Keitel is also a police officer and his form has been a little up and down - kicked 5 goals one week and then quiet the next.Maybe his shifts affect performance as well.

Despite his supposed lack of ''shut eye'' i would have thought it was pretty predictable that Dobbo would go missing when a side is struggling, and i seriously doubt that Coach Roscoe would entertain the idea of swapping former falcon Tedesco for Dobbo who did nothing when Msando put the clamps on him on foundation day.

For a side that laps up the verbal and physical it is a mystery as to why Joondalup's season is already dead and buried.

The blue and whites much much too good for the invoice dodgers today. Should have been a considerably bigger margin. Well done to the colts and ressies on their wins. Good luck to our women tomorrow.

Agreed Ti Em, margin should’ve been bigger and the game all over at 3/4 time. WP looked out in their feet. EF forwards dominated, lead by Jonathon Marsh. O’Reilly and Leggett as good except kicking on goal.

Thought EF won the midfield battle after the first quarter and Jupp and Gorringe had Keitel and Knott in their pockets again.

Big game again this week in Geraldton against Peel

Important 4 points for EF yesterday.....another important 4 v Peel coming up in Gero next week. Probably a good a place as any to play Peel....who knows Freo might be reluctant to allow their players to rough it out on a country footy oval, in fear of injury.

Will definitely to realign their goal kicking radar  though....but great to see lots of scoring opportunities created. Joyce, English and Meade the only first 22 in the injury list....all 3 could be available post the derby v SF. Though mids, small forwards and mid size defenders EF have a plethora of at present...so their absence is covered for now.

Royallucky, go ahead and put the boots into Dobson as much as you like, he currently has the last laugh with a great season last year with many last gasp goals to snatch victory and of course a Premiership. Why would he be entertaining a move back just because we have lost a few games ?
