Any of you older Sharks supporters remember the game EF v Maggie’s at home in 1980?  I have the football budget from the game and have sent a couple of photos of it for our 125 year memorabilia.  I remember it being a good game and thinking at one stage that we could win it.  Any one have any stats or scores for the game?

58 it wasn't an Escort Cup match.East Freo played Hawthorne at VFL park in round 2.
Reigning Premiers Carlton,Port Adelaide and East Fremantle didn't play in round 1.
Must of been a scratch match,pre season.
Swans beat Collingwood in a twilight match at Bassendean oval in the 1985 pre season.
Remember going out to BoB Roses 3/4 address to the Collingwood players..

No mate, it’s definitely EF v Coll, I went to the game and still have the budget.  I thinking it was a friendly scratchie and still have a few memories of the day.  I remember Bomber starred, but not a lot more.  Bugger this old memory box….it’s stuffed methinks!!
 

58 I do remember the Sharks giving Essendon a run for there money.At East Freo home ground.Maby 1986 the year before we joined the Afl . Essendon where raining duel VFL Premiers.
Interesting stat Round 2 of the Escort Cup at East Fremantle Oval,1980.
South Fremantle beat Carlton by 81 points.

I’ll give it a last try because I would love to know the final scores.  The footy budget I have is a souvenir copy and cost 40 cents.  I can only take it that no one reading these pages was at the game.  It was very well attended though.  Maybe I have the only copy around now….  In that case, it looks like I’ll be donating it to the footy club if they want it.

Must have been a scratch match as opposed to an AFC game. We participated in the 1980 AFC night series but were thumped in our only game by Hawthorn at VFL park by 105 points.

58 if you donate the budget to the club.Ask them the final score.of that match.I can't find any information anywhere about that game..It was a scratchie with Vic clubs ,  coming to Wa every pre season..Right up to the mid 80's..Perth almost beat North Melbourne in 77 or 78.

Yeh GTR, it was a friendly.  It was the lady at the club that was asking me about details of the game.  I’ve emailed Ric, but haven’t heard back yet.  I couldn’t find anything on his site either.  Afraid it’ll be a mystery for evermore!

I remember watching an EF v Ess pre season match before the Dockers came along, early 90's. Craig Burrows was BOG from memory, which helped his draft claims....anyone remember that game. 

As for that Collingwood match 58? Sorry mate doesnt ring a bell unfortunately, but then again i was only 12 back then and relied on my oldest brother to get me to EF games back then.
