Losing Murdoch a blow, but doesn't explain sluggish performance and poor kicking. The running handball game almost got working but you just couldn't find a target up forward. A bit embarrassing the sharks had to rely on  young Hagan but he was clearly your best forward option. Great prospect.

Claremont have got their team balance back. Should be a good gf.

Not the result EF folk were hoping for, well maybe the exact result one certain EF fan was hoping for.....but kudos to Cl for their win. You reap what you sow, especially with a slow start. Not sure the thinking behind those two late ins....and Holmes missing too......Murdock out with a groin apparently, not sure about McGuire.....Monaghan kicked 2.....two more then what EF leading goalkicker for the season did I guess.....

Definitely missed Murdock's hardness at the contest, I guess his last minute loss sums up EF season in regards to losing key players throughout the year......Strnadica  Dixon, Joyce, Teakle, O'Reilly, Leggett, Boekhorst  and Murdock all would of played today if available......no excuses just a case of what if, but not to be......frustrating to get so close, but hopefully the beginning of some returned sustained success for the EFFC.

WTF Holmes out?? The coach plays his son…..words can’t express my grief at such a pathetic effort. Choked on the big stage like in 2014.
I think you mean 1984 not 2014 LOL. Anyway as the writer Philip K Dick observed to feel grief is not a bad thing and is actually good. Not sure why you would feel it though not being a supporter of the club!!!

Just could not get their hand s on the ball. 80 less disposals, only 33 inside 50's and even managed to make less tackles. Corey Holmes would not have made any difference. WE were comprehensibly beaten by Claremont today.

Correct Custodian……coached panicked! The faithful will forgive though…….
Hopefully, we can use some of the money from the   club fundraiser for 2022 for our new facilities  and buy some players for next season? (wishful thinking). I guess all monies raised is subject to an audit by WAFC?
Not sure how far that will go with the new facility but worry not - the State Government and the TOEF have come to the party so all is sorted in that respect. Squad depth strengthening though is an area that needs addressing for sure. Clearly the cupboard has been become bare. Credit for getting as far as they did. Joondalup and Claremont clearly have much greater depth then us so not much of a surprise they both make it to the GF..

Exactly what I was thinking when I read the”choking” comment.
I suppose now we’ll hear how we have to sack the coach, chairman, committee and boot studder. 😄😄😄

Fuck me buddy, have you ever had a positive word or thought since your 1984 failure???

I think it is safe to say FF2 is a glass half empty sort of person. Though probably more accurate to say the glass is completely bloody empty.

Obviously the faithful will forgive, EF won as many games this year, as Wiley won in 3 years.....Can't help but show some faith,....each year, bar 2020, which was only half a season, Monaghan has improved EF win/loss ratio and ladder position... the trend is north, not south like under Wiley.

Not actually sure, bar Murdock, if those pre lim changes were injury related or not....the loss of Murdock hurt EF the most.......Burton for Holmes is pretty much a like for like height wise, whilst Monaghan jnr is the closest height wise to McGuire in terms of replacements.....kicked 2, so did what he got selected for.

Disappointing end to overwhelmingly positive season- at least they fought it out and with a bit more composure could’ve got closer in the last. Murdock was missed the most- smashed in the midfield and big ask for the guys coming in off no preparation.

Here’s hoping the boys kick on and are not a 1 season wonder like Perth were a few years back

Was hoping the Gummies would get up for my dear old tragic EF mate but wasn't to be. Great to see Mad dog Marsh live up to his name, I think the Cl boys would have been right in his face from the start, he seems to be an easy target for that sort of stuff and loses the plot if things dont go his way. Can be a super player and and game breaker but so inconsistent, thats why Harry is far better value.

Given EF will get some real quality back next season with guys like Dixon and Stranadica, if they can keep their best 22 on the paddock they will be top 2 finished imho.
