3 fantastic opportunities coming up for EF to bed a top 5 spot. Destiny well n truly in the players hands....if they lose all 3 then they don't deserve to play finals TBH. Considering the amount of key losses the team has had player wise, they have done really well to be in the hunt for a finals spot still.

Losing Boekhorst is obviously a big loss, but great to see the likes of Simpson, Meade, Burton and Murphy are still in the mix to return....plus Leggett listed as 4-5 weeks away....which realistically means he is still a chance to play finals.. if.. EF make it. EF will need all hands on deck to compete with the likes of WP, Cl, SF, SD and Peel...

For me Peel is definitely the dark horse.....not sure how many Freo players can play if Freo and Peel make the finals....would be really nice of our neighbours to dent Peel's chances by beating them this weekend....and then SD beating them in the final game of the H&A season......
 

Sounds like Leggett won't be coming back even if EF did make finals.....big ask and risk to play finals on no match fitness, especially after a decent hammy tear like Leggett had.

Interesting to see Teakle get dropped in the penultimate game of the season for Port....would of thought it would be a good opportunity to see how the fella goes in the last few games of the season....not sure what Port's thinking is there....if any?

Freeze, can you guys apply to get Teakle back for the finals given Port are out of the AFL finals.

Obviously Boekhurst is a massive loss and a real shame because of the way he was playing. But we have regained both Schoenfeld and Baskers in recent weeks. Those two step up and it negates losing one the WAFL gun mids. We also should get O'Reilly back soon. Hopefully our bull does not have anymore Saturday arvo work commitments for the remainder of the season. 

Swans at the WACA will be interesting. They to me, seem like a side that likes to run and the ground could well suit their style of play. It is a game we won't want to drop with Claremont up next. Any chance we can have the Royals game moved to another venue like East Freo? Leederville needs to look nice if it is going to hold the big dance..

I agree, while Boekhorst is a loss- there's plenty of depth through the midfield- O'Reilly and Marsh are the ones that need to come back in. Back line has been pretty steady but need Meade back as well.

I think it's been an outstanding year to date, considering the outs over the year. The team definitely deserves to play finals but needs to win 1 at least to lock it away. Add a few more over the off season and this is definitely a squad that can win a flag over the next 3-5 seasons. I'm not conceding this year either- when they are on, East Fremantle can beat anyone!

Cheers for that R78.....but pretty sure Matt Parker was contracted to play for Richmond in 2022,  when he played for SF last year in the finals after his MSD selection, so surely Teakle is in the same boat?.....just up to Port whether they give Teakle the ok to suit up for EF in September I reckon.....but hey if they don't, still great news for Teakle getting an extension....well deserved.

First of all, Teakle would need to indicate he wanted to come back for the finals, then it's up to Port to give reasons why not, they would be a complete pack of arseholes if they blocked it. FMD even that self possessed mob at Richmond allowed Parker to come back. I hope he can given how the Gummies were raped by the various drafts.
