Back to reality with a good smack from West Perth.  Hope the injury isn’t too bad.

Can't be arsed going up there so watched the game on the box. To be honest it was a poor advertisement for the game. The invoice dodgers pressure was undoubtedly high but will say they did remarkably well to give just 10 free kicks away at the same time!

Eards and Jupp probably our best. Buddha and Baskers tried hard all day and did reasonably well too. English, Gorringe, Tucker, Goddard and Boekhurst (before his injury) after that. First gamer Cleaver also did pretty well marking the woman beating thug. Too many passengers though Smith and  Monty did SFA. Tassone, Snuffy, Schoenfeld and plenty of others mediocre days. Fingers crossed on Boekhurst's scan result.

Be interested in hearing other’s opinions about the game play.  Seems to me that the hand balling is a bit over the top and sometimes ends up in a simple turnover.  Still, I suppose it’s easy from the sidelines.

Definitely too much handballing. Much of it jittery or to someone under the pump. This and the poor disposal in general highlights the defensive pressure applied by Joondalup.

So what invoices weren't paid TiEm. Would you like to sit down and have a chat with me so I can explain to you how everything was paid.

In the same way as to go fishing and to actually catch fish are not exactly the same thing, so to is invoice dodging and eventually paying your debts. Joondalup FC will always be the invoice dodgers to me so hard cheese and as kind as your offer of a sit down and chat is, I will pass thanks.

I looked at a bit of the game and I think the final margin didn't really reflect the closeness of the game as West Perth ran away with it late. Sharks had more of the ball, nearly as many inside 50s but in the end lacked the goal kicking options that West Perth had. Shocking luck for Blaine Boekhurst to get that knee injury, hopefully the scans only show something minor. His loss early in the 3rd quarter stalled the Sharks momentum, when they were threatening to take control.
I wouldnt lose hope if I was an East Freo supporter, the Falcons are hard to beat at Joondalup and Marsh was a big out for them.  However, West Perth are now the obvious flag favourites particularly if the Grand Final is played at Joondalup. In that case they will probably play all their finals there.

Apparently Marsh out of the league team today which obviously being a big out. Goddard stepped in with a good effort according to reports and even chipped in with a goal. A close contest up to three quarter time. In the last term East Fremantle fell away with only 2 scoring shots, whilst the Falcons having 6. And West Perth finishing the stronger.
Is interesting to see East Fremantle having scored the most goals in the first half of their matches thus far in the season with 104. The next best is West Perth scoring 84 goals in the first half of their matches thus far.
In the second half of their matches East Fremantle have so far scored 85 goals, whereas West Perth have scored 87. Had East Fremantle had a full squad to choose and Boekhorst not been injured, perhaps today's result could have been different?

The Joondalup jinx continues for EF....thought EF might of seized the momentum with that last  min 3/4 goal from Goddard....sadly the players didn't return from the 3/4 time huddle. Definitely missed the big body of Marsh, he gets the best defender each week....good to see O'Reilly back in the reserves....the sooner he and Marsh are in EF forward the better...  both take the top 2 defenders, allowing the likes of Jansen, Smith and Lester-smith the lesser tall defenders.

Will be sods law if Boekhorst has done an ACL.....but footy is footy I guess.  Pretty miserable effort by all 3 grades yesterday, WP colts scored more goals in their 4 quarters, then all 3 EF grades combined.....the week off will be an interesting one.....because if SF, Cl and SD win, EF drop to 4th, with only a 4 pt breathing space in front of SD, who EF play the following week. If not too careful, EF could be squeezed out of the top 5 after the Cl game...  need a win or two from our remaining 3 games....could be an exciting last week.. .   and Peel will be in the mix too.

I agree Freezin, there’s a real possibility the Sharks drop out of finals. They players looked tired yesterday and maybe the season is starting to take its toll on the younger players who have shouldered the workload. Bye comes at a good time I think. Boekhorst would be a massive loss, as was Teakle and Leggett, with Baskerville, Marsh and Schoenfeld missing large chunks of games.

Scrappy game yesterday. Cleaver was ok and Hagan struggled- and the forward line was pretty toothless.

Big month ahead!!
