Boekhurst again headed the charge. Eardley off half back was also excellent with his intercept marking a highlight. Tucker and Gorringe both seemed to thrive on the heavy track and had solid games down back. McDonald threw himself into the contest and managed to get his hands on the ball enough times to complete 26 disposals. Holmes and Snuffy both at times made handling the ball look quite easy and Goddard rucked all afternoon winning a mountain of hit outs.

Our opponent may be glued firmly to the bottom half of the ladder but still very good to get the 4 away points. 25 points probably does not do us justice and really should of been a much greater margin if not for several missed easy shot on goals. Disgraceful surface at Leederville even worse than lake Joondalup. Completely unacceptable for the states top footy comp.

Agree about the surface Ti Em, we can thank Malthouse and the Eagles for that. They wanted a Victorian type clay based surface as an option to train on so they resurfaced it and it just doesn't drain. Add that to having two teams based there and 3 games every week, 4 when the womens comp is on, it's a recipe for disaster. The Eagles should pay for the surface to be be re-instated back to the well draining sand base that was previously there.

Also well done to the Sharks, too good all day for an undermanned Subi.

McDonald has been another astute recruit by Dodd......Williamson has shown glimpses, whilst Medland not so......be interesting to see if Simpson can find some form over the next 2 months of the season.

With Murphy, Smith, Williamson, Simpson & Aiken- Featherstone all looking for a league spot.....along with O'Reilly and Monaghan to return over the next month hopefullly and maybe u/18 boys in Hagan and Cleaver post state duties....not too sure what the deal is with Bockman tho, been sitting on EF list for a few weeks but no show in either the reserves or league........EF will need all the depth they can find if they go deep this year.

Not sure you can blame Malthouse et al for the condition of the oval.  Whoever said “‘yeah ok, we’ll stuff up a nice oval for you blokes” should get the blame.  Still, it is the Eagles, so let’s blame them.

Easier to blame mother nature. Leederville - like Perth Oval - are on old lakes that have a habit of making appearances in winter. Lots of sand as top dressing needed to counter the poor drainage like what the cricket association did at the WACA (but that inadvertently spoilt the bouncy wicket).

Another solid win, set up with the early 4 goal burst. I was a bit worried going into the game, despite the outs at Subiaco, as to how EF would handle the conditions. But a workman like effort set up by a resolute defence, one that’s certainly unheralded. Agree on McDonald- he is getting better and better, so is Goddard and McGuire had an impact despite unsuitable conditions for a marking tall. Great to see Baskerville and Schoenfeld back- both a little quiet and Murdock was in civvies for most of the 2nd half so hopefully he’s ok.

Anyone catch Simpson in the Reserves? How’d he go? Not great conditions and it look like the Sharks were well beaten

Probably the concussion ruling KC  - re Murdock.....if so won't be available for the WCER game....like Boekhorst the fella is having a stellar season.
