Not sure where the time has gone, but here we are facing Peel again.....good close contest last time these sides met, until Peel pulled away in the 4th quarter. Peel are benefitting from a relatively injury free Freo, plus some gifted mid season recruiting

I see Schoenfeld is off the injury list, been a while since he ran out for EF, obviously a talent, but surely a run with the reserves will be the go. Baskerville has gone from designated weeks to a test now....though common sense suggests a return v Subi after the bye next weekend. Think O'Reilly has lower back stress fractures so who knows if or when he returns.

Besides losing Treacy last week, Peel will benefit from a fair few Freo players, good test for EF.....been a great first half to the year, considering the players EF lost last minute and mid season.....hopefully EF will have their kicking boots on in this one, kicking 3.7 in the 3rd, definitely kept Cl in the game....which they duly won.

This will be another tough test- def need Baskerville and Schoenfeld back. Be interesting to see if there’s any last minute additions though not sure you’re plucking anyone half decent at this stage of the season.

At least Treacy out but looks like the Sharks will cop A strong Peel for the 2nd time this season.

Disappointing to lose last weekend. The side played well in patches but not well enough overall to take 4 points against a quality opponent. 3.7 with their last use of the breeze left too slim a lead to defend in the last. A bit like the last time we played the Dockers reserves.

It was pointed out at 3 quarter time by the coach that quite few players had not had a great day. We will need all players firing this weekend. The Dockers playing in Melbourne probably means we play a side with more Peel players than AFL but should be a tough test.

Schoenfeld should be back this weekend though most likely with the reserves. Baskers probably a few weeks away and not sure where Dill OReilly has got to.

O'Reilly from what I have heard has some lower back issues Ti Em....possibly stress fractures, which no doubt will take time to heal....how bad they are who knows....

Leggett will be out for a while with a hammy apparently.

Great....he has been excellent this year playing almost like a key forward. Quickly running out of scoring options and a heap more pressure on Marsh. Maybe Jansen forward when Schoenfeld and Baskerville back. Doesn't sound like any late reinforcements will appear either.

Disappointing to hear about Leggett, had to be a decent tear as well.....definitely very thin for goal scoring targets.....Monaghan has to be creative in rotating forward options......dependent upon the mids and small forwards to help Marsh find some goals...Though hopefully Snuffy can rekindle that goal kicking spree from a few tears back.....think kicked 45 goals from memory.....also Cody Smith is a decent size, maybe with Schoenfeld and Baskerville back after the bye, Smith may play up front permanently..

.I see Bockman is back on EF list, but not named in the reserves.....only a medium sized forward, but talented when on song.

The info from our connection at Mineral Resources was spot on. Cody Leggett is out and as a double whammy so to is Cody of the Smith variety. Both OUTS are significant blows. In comes Aiken-Featherstone and Holmes. Not exactly like for like but good luck to them. Both have worked hard for their spots. With the majority of the Peel side actually being Dockers players today presents quite a challenge. Hopefully all our players can rise to it and lift that bit more for Matthew Jupp's 150th league game for the club. Tim Bockman back at the club would  certainly be welcomed. His absence this season has slipped under the radar after the Eagles last minute grab and Teakle joining Port.

Side for today is:

BURTON  JUPP  TUCKER

MEADE  BAILEY  EARDLEY

TASSONE  JANSEN  BENNETT

ENGLISH  MCGUIRE  MONTAUBAN

WILLIAMSON  MARSH  LESTER-SMITH

GODDARD  BOEKHURST  MURDOCK

AIKEN-FEATHERSTONE  GORRINGE  HOLMES  MCDONALD

Strong 3rd quarter to contain Peel to no goals definitely helped EF score the 4 points.....thought in that 1st quarter EF had wasted their ascendancy with a barrage of behinds in time on.....kicked straighter in the 2nd half after Peel piled on some heat in the 2nd quarter.

Boekhorst and Murdock are killingit this year, the former definitely with a few Sandover votes by now, whilst Murdock keeps keeping on......surprised Jansen found his kicking boots after 1/2 time.....important EF can find a variety of targets up front with Leggett gone for the season.....great to see Schoenfeld back in the reserves.....pretty sure Baskerville will be back after the bye.....

Goddard has been a god send for the team, did well v big Meek and his back up Smith. Congrats to the skipper on his 150th, well deserved milestone and a well deserved victory to celebrate that milestone.

Gutsy win when you consider we have some quality sitting on the sideline. Credit to those who did play today and gave their all for the jumper. That stood out particularly after half time. Our opponents had at least 12 players who the jumper means nothing.
