Big test for the Sharks. South Fremantle look very strong on paper still and welcome back Donaldson and Schlensog, who are both quality players. I see young English is an out and I assume he and Murphy have picked up injuries or COVID. Teakle also out. Bill and Selection team have gone with McGuire to replace Teakle. Always showed plenty of promise- time to deliver my friend.

Match will be won in the midfield where SF more than match the Sharks in form mids. Great test- can't wait.

Max Murphy was a last minute inclusion last weekend for Monty. Not sure if he finished out the game though. Monty is back and he has been quite lively up front so good to have him back. English out is a blow. Teakle is a massive blow but McGuire gets a go and looks to have plenty of natural ability and potential. Snuffy back IN is the other change. Derby team is

MONTAUBAN  MARSH  LEGGETT

HOLMES  McGUIRE  WILLIAMSON

BENNETT  JANSEN  LESTER-SMITH

TASSONE  BAILEY  EARDLEY

BURTON  JUPP  MEADE

GODDARD  BOEKHURST  MURDOCK

McDONALD  MEDLAND  SMITH  TUCKER

Hopefully we don't get the clowns that umpired the last two derbies tomorrow.

Murphy did a hamstring v Subi, so out for a month, not sure re English, probably COVID.. Schoenfeld another 3 weeks... not sure the go there....was a week away before the Perth game, now three?

Our talls have taken a huge hit this year....Stnadica, Dixon and now Teakle, with O' Reilly now with an ongoing back issue.....McGuire is mobile and talented, probably where Teakle was a year or so ago, just needs games under his belt. Heaven help EF if Goddard goes down.....Feist is 190cm and listed as the reserves ruck for tomorrow.....the colts ruck is usually Scott who stands at 188cm.....not sure where Bonomelli(197) and Muskrovsky(198) are, both haven't played reserves for a few weeks....big 3 games coming up.....will do well to go 1/2......hard to gauge  the quality of this EF side, but they have played some good footy so far.

SF definitely  bolstered with the return of Schlensog and Donaldson.....though the former hasn't played all year, so probably a good time to play against him.....SF talls in Strom × 2, Miller, Shaw, Schlensog  and Free will definitely stretch EF height....how in fark none of those guys get an AFL look in totally amazes me.....yet EF lose 3 in the space of 8 weeks......

Have to laugh. The traditional overflowing urinal on the hill at Puppy Dog Park has begun. Looking forward to the game starting.

FFS. We’ll done Dogs, thought you were the better team for most of the day. A few Sharks went missing with pressure on which should be a good learning experience

No's 1 an 9 couldn't get you over the line but tried valiantly. Good pace. Eardly unlikely. Played really well too.

Sharks have had no luck this year. Great day of footy. Great weekend for the wafl really.  I think on balance, I'm against the mid season draft.

Very close in the end and a positive that our boys stuck at it. Had a massive chance to win it late but it was not to be. Disappointing result from our perspective after a great 2 quarter. Credit to South though as they turned things around, dominated the third term and were able to hold on in the end.

Buddha was probably our best today. Boekhurst, Eardley, Jupp, Jansen and Goddard also good. Needed a bit more support though and we carried a few too many passengers today.

For me, a 2 pt loss is harder to take than a 5 goal loss.  Still South’s deserved it, plus 26 shots to 19 usually gets the job done.
so now we take on the Cardies at “home”…..gees, it doesn’t get any easier, does it?
Agree Johnny, the MSD sucks!!!

Close but no cigar as they say.....kudos to SF for digging deep after half time and getting their noses in front. Great game of footy and a great advertisement for the WAFL comp. I think you will see which players came up short when the heat was on in selections for EF next game.

EF did well considering the key personnel they were missing, definitely missed O'Reilly up front, English around the packs and Baskerville's run through the middle....and of course Teakle's height around the ground. Not a SF expert, but that would be close to a full strength side for them, so coming up short by 2 pts isn't that bad I guess.

Do have to say though, the club is on its bare bones for depth, that reserves side looks awfully small and definitely thin in terms of prospective league replacements....no ruck, no key forward or key back of note......colts playing to make up the numbers.....tough few weeks coming up that will definitely test the club.....those early wins banked will definitely help......

Given your comment about the Reserves, Freezin- I’m not sure there’ll be many changes. I guess when you had Strnadica, Dixon, Teakle, and McGuire on your books you can understand that’s probably enough cover for ruck/fwd. given that many AFL clubs are screaming out for talls- no surprise the cupboard is bare. Great that we managed to pick up Goddard and McGuire showed promise.

I’m a half glass full as well, missed Baskerville, English and Schoenfeld through the middle and that hurt us. O’Reilly up forward would take pressure off Marsh. Still, they weren’t there and we still nearly pinched it. The group certainly has belief- be interesting to see how they respond this week.
