First game at the WACA, be interesting to see how both sides adapt to a new venue of playing footy. Subi haven't got anywhere near their usual standard, but looked good coming from behind to beat SD. EF seem to be ticking along nicely, obviously will need Marsh and O'Reilly back to have any chance of beating Subi on Sat. Not sure about O'Reilly though....back issues can linger....might see Schoenfeld in the reserves, though who knows with those injury lists on the WAFL site.

The defence have been honest with Jupp, Eardley, Meade, Tucker et al doing their jobs....think EF finally has a midfield that can compete with the better teams like Subi, WP, Cl and SF.....good spread of goal kickers....ruck wise EF should hold sway in the ruck....but De La  is such an athlete it will definitely  test the likes of Teakle around the ground....don't think Goddard has the athleticism to cause Subi any mischief around the ground.

Subi will be keen to avenge that shellacking by EF last year, best performance by any side v the premiers last year I reckon....would be more confident if Dixon and Strnadica were wearing the blue n white....

Fair assessment Freeze, but given the form guide, your boys go in as favourites. Subi are getting back to some form, but not consistent through a whole game yet. We beat Swans on fitness when they stopped in the last, not on skills which they were far  better at for most of the game. Hopefully a nice fine day, forecast is mostly sunny 21 and 20% chance of rain. I assume the pitches have been removed? Would be a quagmire after so much rain if they are still there.

The pitches at the WACA are not drop-ins, so they're going nowhere in a hurry.

Gee thats a worry, I wouldn't want to be a mid for either team next Saturday.

If it was Peelmantle playing EF at the WACA it would be shades of their walkout at Leederville 5 odd years ago and would never go ahead, they only like playing on bowling greens, it would either be too wet and boggy or too dry and hard.

SS did you see the pics of Rushton Park in Mandurah the other day?
It was almost completely under water.
The WACA surface is like a bowling green and like chalk & cheese compared to all WAFL ground surfaces bar Lathlain & Optus although even that got hit hard last weekend.

Looking forward to watching some football at the WACA again. Hopefully a good game but Subi seem to be hitting their straps so a good test for the young Sharks. I must admit, even though we've only played Swans from last years finals, the Sharks are doing a lot better than I thought- especially after losing Strnadica, Dixon and Joyce. Imagine if we had them!

Hopefully Josh Schoenfeld's return is not too far off. Having both Jono Marsh and Dillon O'Reilly back for this weekend would be great.

Looking forward to this match. Will be a good hit out for East Fremantle to see where they are. They would dislike giving up second spot on the league ladder because it has been a long time of not occupying the top part of the league. Weather is going to be fine according to the crystal ball. Apparently this match being broadcast by the the very capable SportFM commentary team.

No Baskerville or Lester-smith....O'Reilly not playing either....going to be a tough ask scoring v Subi experienced defence....congrats to Sam Medland on his WAFL debut....for EF this time.....though Medland is named in both league and reserves starting 18.....busy boy it seems.
Subi lose Walter's and Brandon Matera....a good round up of EF boys playing for Subi as well....Harry Marsh, Eaton, Snadden and Alone.....could be some good banter getting passed around.....

EFFC website preview of todays game claiming this COULD  be Brynn Teakle's last game in blue and white hoops - unless he is picked up by Geelong. The coach quoted as saying that he is resigned to losing him in the AFL mid season draft.
