Will WCER even field a team? WCE dipping into their top ups already for the NM game.

Always going to be on the cards I guess. Be interested to see folks reactions when it happens during the proper season...... embarrassing  not being able to get a team on the park, so close to the season start.....just wished WCE swallowed their ego and just went back to how it was before.....atleast their players would be assured of playing a game of footy each weekend when not playing AFL.

Getting off topic a bit here - but looking at the North Melbourne v West Coast Eagles line ups - Eagles lose 5 through HS protocols. It is a new one - what exactly is it (HS protocol)? Carlton had 2 out for the same reason against Footscray..

Health & safety protocol- I think limited to Covid19 issues, either infected or isolating as a close contact. The length of time the player is unavailable is longer if they are infected because they have to pass further health checks before it is safe (to them) to return to high levels of physical activity

not surprising it happened being a pre season game and the afl season already started.i expect that once the season starts that it won't happen at wafl level.expect the eagles to be given extra top up players from amateurs or other leagues.the afl are determined to get all afl games played which is why all clubs have top up players..whith what we see at afl level and how both afl clubs are getting affected by covid i expect it will be the same with all wafl clubs..not only injuries but covid may determine wins and who makes the finals.

Good point Chaddy, especially when the age group most likely to get covid are the 19-30 and those most likely to be close contacts seem to be parents with primary school aged kids. How
clubs and players can limit the covid impact could
be critical
