2pt loss v SD this today in the prelim ends EF colts finals campaign....well done to SD.....game of two halves it seems....with SD winning the first and EF the second.......close but no cigar.

Also huge congrats to EF ex colts in Jackson and Rivers winning a premiership yesterday with Melbourne, both boys played their part, especially Jackson in that mid 3rd quarter Melbourne revival.....both boys will go down in the MFC history books as being part  of the 22 that ended a 57 year drought.
We perhaps were a bit unlucky. Weather forced the players from the field during the quarter time break. 4 quarters were played but the 3rd and 4th were reduced by 5 minutes each. Who knows what might of happened if those minutes weren't lost? Swans though had led for most of the match and deserve their spot in the GF.

Well done to Melbourne FC and their East Freo boys - would not surprise to see this group dominate for a few more seasons yet.

Tough luck for the Sharks, sounds like it was a great comeback from 4 goals down at half time.

I didnt watch the game but given it was a really close finish, would it have made a difference if they had time on in the last qtr?
In finals I think it's too easy for the leading team to waste time given the clock doesn't stop for stoppages throw-ins or scoring.
Time on would make both teams play the game out more positively. They can still control the footy, chip it around etc, but it takes out the opportunity for teams to force endless stoppages to wind down the clock.

I guess SS, that's the benefit of a team coming out each quarter hot and scoring early, which is what SD colts did in the 1st, 2nd and 4th quarters....EF finished every quarter hot, but paid the price in the end losing by 2 points......though didn't help the quarters were shortened after the lightning strike......

Congrats to  EF Josh Browne on winning the Jack Medal, son of WP Andrew Browne......Josh has had a stand out year, actually last 18 months of footy, since Ricca the EF colts coach, moved Browne from half back to the midfield..... swapping with Finn Gorringe......Gorringe has reaped the benefits as well.....
