Looks like EF youngsters are hitting some form at the right time, great to see Cripps jnr hitting his straps after his ACL injury last year.....Williams, Cripps and McMillan all 195cm plus are a talented tall trio who are capable of kicking a few up front, clunking a few pack marks and rotating through the ruck, whilst providing numerous opportunities to the talented EF  state reps  in Browne, Warner, Woewodin and Hagan. Obviously the better these guys play the more likely they will depart come draft time.....should be a cracking finals series, with EF having a tough game v WP on the weekend, with the winner facing off in another game the following week v the loser of the EP v Cl game. Quietly confident EF youngsters can go deep in the final, but one can never be too confident with the amount of talent on display at the other finalists....good luck to all five teams over the finals series, should be great viewing.

EF youngsters get the job done in a scrappy affair over WP youngsters apparently....poor kicking for goal from both sides.....with EF kicking 1.7 in the 3rd quarter.....definitely can't afford to repeat that v EP in the 1st semi....and most definitely v Cl or SD....if EF want to go deep in this finals series......though great defensive effort by EF.....restricting WP to kicking 1 goal over 3 quarters of footy.....WP kicked the first two goals of the game and kicked their next goal in the final minute of the 4th quarter.....should be a great contest next week v EP.....and the SD v Cl game will be a beauty as well....

Should be a cracking couple of colts games this weekend.....SD v Cl and the two Easts clashing. Both EF and EP have some exciting talls and mids.....EF won the last clash pretty easily from memory, but being a one off finals clash, that previous clash goes out the door.....the winner gets to play the loser out of SD and Cl....which won't be an easy task....as both those sides have been the best two all season.....good luck to all 4 teams.

So its Swans v Sharks for the Colts Preliminary final. In East Fremantle's favour is that Swans can't seem to buy a win so far in this finals series.  0 from 4 across all grades so far.

Yeah that is a stat that doesn't truly highlight SD improvement across all 3 grades this, year mikeh.....SD will go in favourites and rightly so.....they will benefit from the run too....the first match between these two sides went down to the wire with SD winning by 7 pts.....whilst the second game was during the State U/19 stuff, resulting in SD thrashing a depleted EF side by 10 goals.....

Should be another close game, though EF will definitely need to improve their efficiency around goal to beat SD.....1.7 and 1.5 in the 3rd quarter kept both finals games alive till EF kicked away in the last to win. A bit more pressure on SD to win, don't want to go out in straight sets after the 15/1 H&A season they have just had....plus a 0/5 finals series is bitter pill no SD fan would like to swallow....so SDFC are due a win this finals campaign...but saying that EF colts have won their last 5 games on the trot....so who knows....

Mike it would have been nice to have got a least 1 Colts or Reserves final at home.
We finished on top in the Colts and yet we had to play 2nd placed Claremont at Claremont Oval whilst we finished 2nd in the Ressies and had to play 4th placed Subi at their home ground.
Yep 0-4 and the possibility of going 0-5 (playing the Prelim Final at Moss St this week would really top it off) but in all seriousness there really is no incentive to finish as high as possible in the Colts or Reserves as it is not worth a pinch of poop in the end its all on the League and we know Claremont and Subi are always in the finals!

Considering Freo oval used to be EF home ground back in the day, I can see your point there BH......I think SD colts will bounce back regardless where they play....good sides can play and win anywhere come end on the day.....SD are a good side....

2pt loss v SD this today in the prelim ends EF colts finals campaign....well done to SD.....game of two halves it seems....with SD winning the first and EF the second.......close but no cigar.

Also huge congrats to EF ex colts in Jackson and Rivers winning a premiership yesterday with Melbourne, both boys played their part, especially Jackson in that mid 3rd quarter Melbourne revival.....both boys will go down in the MFC history books as being part  of the 22 that ended a 57 year drought.
