Another good test to see if there's been any improvement over the year- Claremont touched up East Freo in the first game of the year, when the side was significantly stronger. Good to see Marsh back and the forward line looks slightly more threatening. O'Reilly and Leggett in the Magoos, still no sign of Dixon, who is still To Be Confirmed on the WAFL website. So at least a few reinforcements arriving over the backend of the season. That should make the Reserves more competitive- but they're taking on the ladder leaders who have only lost 1 game. Colts travels to Albany- spots in the 5 are getting tight and they'll need to win more than they lose in the home straight to ensure finals. Heading to Tigerland to watch this one- here's hoping.....

It’s been a long time since we last beat the Tigers.  Can’t see us breaking the drought against one of the premiership fancies.  Still, while there’s a heartbeat…

Can't believe you are counting last year as a legitimate season FF2....are you a closet SF or Perth fan by chance.....even at the end of this season FF2, Buffalo still has another 8 or so games up his sleeve to match Wiley's illustrious feat of 14 wins over 3 full seasons of coaching....Buffalo's record stands at 10...considering EF have lost 4 games by under a kick, think Spuds achievement is seriously under threat...... though that isnt saying much TBH.....still time for Bill just yet....

Of course SF fans are going to acknowledge last years flag....any clubs fans would in their place....but let's compare coaching records of Buffalo and Spud at EF after they have coached the same number of games.....not seasons mate....but hey what's 10 games come end of the day......

I know this goes against FF2's age ethos....but HT kicked a lazy 17 goals today for Northampton today.....that was after playing in the WACFL v WAAFL game the night before.....any room for HT up front in your EF  team for next week v SD FF2?

I’m a glass half full type but the inability to put scores on the board when the game is on our terms is killing us. How we were behind at half time is anyone’s guess. The slick ball movement of last week only briefly popped its head up and some basic skill errors were a regular occurrence. Baskerville was excellent through the midfield, English continues to build a solid first season, Kommer and Marsh looked dangerous forward (though missed too many gettable ones) and Tassone and Meade were good down back. I think Tassone is starting to deliver on the considerable faith Buffalo and Co showed in him. But a few others like Bailey (who was ok last week), Jr, Montauban, Lester-Smith ect need to become more consistent in producing League quality games.

Bailey had 2 touches yesterday, but was just one of quite a few passengers. A criticism that keeps coming up is that too much is continually being left to be done by too few. Our tackling was also poor yesterday and it would also seem quite a few of Claremont players must have BO or had been eating garlic on Friday night. Baskerville was clearly our best player. Had plenty of the ball and managed to lay a fifth of our total tackles. Along with Cam Eardley seems to be in a 2 man race for a Lynn medal.

Ti Em, I reckon Strnadica would be in with a chance as well. Dropped away a bit lately but was excellent early days.

I actually saw most of the Reserves game and it was a pretty competitive game. 2-3 goals in it most of the day. But there were a few young guys out there for the Sharks that a fair way off the level. O’Reilly kicked 5, Leggett and Snadden were solid. Probably need them up in the 1s

3 weeks in a row now, league, seconds and colts have not won a game.

I guess though according to the powers to be we’re on track to win our first premiership in 23 years with Buffalo at the helm.

uh ......just wondering though how South Fremantle, Subiaco, Claremont, West Perth and Swan Districts remain competitive each season? All have won premierships in the last 23 years. Good luck on their part I guess..........or as we would say on bloody brown paper bags full of #*! And I know our club would not do that as it is totally unethical.
It would seem you have ignored Swans recent wooden spoons and certainly have not figured Bill Monaghan having contributed any part of the recent West Perth formula for success. How thick of the board to appoint him when Harry Taylor is so clearly the answer - never mind that he may have no desire at all to coach!

Pretty easy to see why SD are competitive this year....hardly any injuries to their key players and recruits this year - stable core group, thus allowing their next tier players to find their feet.....how many games have Black, Nelson, Keitel and Knott missed during Valentine's reign....fark all.....once again a stable core group enabling others to find their feet....SF similar over the last few years and Subi showed last year they were vulnerable when key players were out for a period of time.

But hey good luck to these sides and hopefully EF can get good extended periods from the likes of Schoenfeld, English, Chalmers and Murdock running through their midfield along side Baskerville, Jansen, Boekhorst etc whilst Marsh, Dixon and O'Reilly provide them with targets up front to kick goals....the club has been caught out  depth wise with long term injuries to 4 of their 6 recruits.....injuries are part of footy....you can only grin and bear it and hopefully find a few hidden gems.....e.g. Warner and Gorringe so to speak
