Out goes Montauban.

Big Griff has been a loyal stalwart, always remember his 2012 GF performance where he nearly singlehandedly got us over the line.

Fingers crossed 'Tassone' STAYS on the bench....

Yep, remember that one. He lifted the team and bought us sharks supporters to life. Surely the team can dig deep and send him into retirement in a winning way.

Not the hurrah Griff wanted, but it is what it is....with that forward line of EF, 6 goals was always going to be around the mark....need goal kickers badly and some mids with better skills...great start by the colts and reserves, strangely enough both wins consigned SD colts and reserves sides to wooden spoons.

So in a nutshell the Colts finished 4th, the reserves finished 5th....missed out on finals by mere %...30 odd % mind you....and the league boys finished 8th....1/7...not flash indeed, but 3 of those 7 losses were by 1 kick....

So Griff is a definite, most likely Kommer too due to injuries...don't think EF can afford a 10 point player who is off the park more then on...Loersch card looks to of been marked....plus a few others....definitely need some goal kickers and 1 or two mids with some decent foot skills....

Next year is a big year for the coaching team, lot of talk about improvement from them, need wins not close losses me thinks....

Good luck to the colts next week, tough ask v WP...but well done on getting through.

Firstly Swans look pretty good so credit to them - we looked rancid but all they can do is beat the opposition they are presented with - which they did with ease. Nice touch at the end by them to join the guard of honour to send Griff off. Very little to excite going forward for us though sadly. One of the few positive things is the season for us is over so the patient supporters who devote precious time and money to witness this rubbish can put it towards something hopefully more rewarding and fruitful for 6 months at least. Eardley and Boekhurst can hold their heads high - likewise Manning. Murdock courageous as usual and has continued to improve during the course of the shortened season. Leggett has been a very good pick up Tucker looks likely too. Struggling to find much else today. Bennett playing on one leg. Bailey knocked out and carried off. The coaches son who has had a secure spot continues to contribute very little - which is putting it politely. Tassone fractionally better and also is protected. Meanwhile Loersch can't get a go nor anyone else in the reserves it seems. What ever did he do to upset the coach? Skills well down again today. Very disappointing send off for big Griff who like the fans deserve better.

I sit somewhere between Ti Em and Freeze.

I can only hope that continuing to play some of the players they did was to find out if they were any good! I think Monaghan Jr was very lucky to play all the games- he doesn’t look up to it to me. Tassone was slightly better but should’ve been dropped earlier as well.

Tucker was good yesterday and got an award at the presentations. Leggett had a solid season. Murdock was excellent. Murphy, Ryan and Bockman look like they could become good players. Baskerville and Bennett have been solid.

Not sure what the go is with Loersch- is it an attitude thing? If so the coaching staff need to do their jobs and get the best out of him. Didn’t play Reserves either. Same with Bonomelli. Both were named on Thursday. Odd selection policy when scoring is such a big issue. But it has been for the last few years.

I’m a little more optimistic going forward but it would’ve been nice to sign off in a more positive fashion. 1-7 is very poor. Next year is huge

As a supporter I can only on my behalf apologise to Griff that the last game he played at the club the majority of his teammates didn't turn up. He deserved so much better!!
No names to mention as there were so many - but
Skill levels generally disgusting and WE continue to LOSE games. Cannot understand how a league team cant handball effectively, cant actually kick effectively to another EF player and so on and on and on
A few can hold their heads high
Several need to be let go, moved , given permanent spots in the reserves or other - just not good enough and they aren't getting it??
I prefer to watch the game live as I did - and taped it to watch later at home when I hoped to be reliving a great day for Griff and others - I deleted it ...

Much Much Much work to do next year
I have positive hoppes and look forward to improvement - please please give the supporters what they deserve guys !!

KC I reckon both Bonomelli and Loersch probably walked before Thursday, but were named from a numbers perspective until the league 22 was finalized on Fri. I remember reading during the season the club had some bi-play between players and coach....Think Monaghans one/two word analysis of Loersch was a telling "Who?"...not sure of Bonomelli's.....

Not sure where the recruits are going to come from, especially in this current climate, only so many one can attract financially and from a points perspective.....definitely a Taylor and a Hooker type would provide experience and leadership if their respective AFL careers are done...at a cheap 1 point cost...

Dodd needs to get busy tapping into any contacts he may have...as you say KC, Leggett and Tucker have added to the side.....jury is out on Riach, still relatively young, whist Mills was always only going to be a temp stop gap at 29/30....with COVID altering the footy landscape Aust wide and reports of the WAFL being an attractive footy option next year, Dodd needs to get his skates on post AFL culling time....

quality skilled players are of the essence I believe for EF to move forward, yesterday performance was very indicative of where this current list of players sit in the comp right now....can't kick or hand pass when the heat goes on...sadly a turnover plethora.....how does a club replace 10 - 12 players in one off season and expect to move forward...big ask....

I noticed Leggett sacrificed his draft chances by going forward in the second half.
:P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P
Not a bad pick up for you guys but not the A grade player (10 points) EF need.
You need some leaders.

DF thanks for the insight mate, not sure why you are wasting any of your much needed energy here on Cody digs....again...put it to good use on the Perth site fella drumming up some positive vibes for Perth's over due up coming finals campaign... apparently one 20 plus years in the making....sounds like one of those David Attenborough extravaganzas on the National Geographic channel!!

but agree leaders are needed, thus EF seriously looking at the likes of a Taylor or a Hooker if they become available...fark even a JK would be the icing on the cake....though not sure Monaghan could handle the competition coaching a player/s who have had a better playing career then himself......as FF2 says, Hampson and Schofield were threats to the coaches ego and moved on promptly....now Loersch as well it seems too..LOL
