My impression is that Barnard is forming his own opinion and wants players to justify the selections, a wait see process for supporters.

Ins Jackson Ramsay,Callum Hart,Sharrod Wellingham,&Joel Houghton.

outs Shayne Hille,Jarrhan Jacky,Asher Samelko,Liam Martin&Mahli King.

4 ins and 5 outs.Did we only play with 25 last week. Can't remember seeing Shaquille Mckenzie out there.
the 4 ins should be automatic best 22.I suspect Hille must have a injury not to be playing
.We are playing 26 in the scratch game today which means 4 will not be in the starting 22 for the first game against subi.
It looks like nearly everyone who has some league experience will get a game of league or reserves.
I am happy that we have a healthy list and some competition for places. We need everybody fit and healthy to be competitive.Give Barnard a chance as he needs to make his mind up as to best 22 especially as he has been way several years.

Couple of interesting things out of today's game and a few worries.

Interestingly the ressies were much the same as last season, strong at the ball and the longer the game went on the skills improved. Dobbo, North and others showed plenty.

The worries for me are that the imports from Pinjarra and Victoria were shall we say either out of their depth or should have stayed retired. Joel Houghton will improve and Mckenzie has a role and it paid dividends a couple of times, Olongo played FB and did alright ( the boy kicked a few but not when the O was on him), AJ was good value with a few of the other boys showed the run was needed.

It will be a bit daunting next week but hey we back being our team and frankly that is all that counts!

Grump, I didn't make it up to South Gero today as I'm saving myself for tomorrow's doco about the 1978 premiership team at the Cygnet Cinema.
Not that it matters in a scratchie, but dare I ask what the score was?

Grump, I agree totally the Ressie boys mentioned were outstanding, with Matt Young and Red, doing some good things.
The imports in the ones, looked well below par, for their much publicised hype.

I agree with your thoughts about scratch matches, Falcon.
As ABC Radio's Quentin Hull said so eloquently an hour or so ago, "preseason form is an oxymoron".
