Last time we spoke re your zone (on FG) you said Subi threw it back in your face. Good to see they are a lot wiser when someone as passionate as you is willing to help.

You are totally correct regarding new systems that are implemented and being patience with them. So no surprises that EP system failed...perhaps the writing was on the wall with the alignment sooner than we all knew. ;)

With alignment players plus other imports taking up at least half their league team what chance is there for a home grown EP player coming through their system to play league?

Yeah, different people there now. all good.

Yeah, no chance of a local coming through at East Perth I'd say, unless they stop out of zone recruiting. We know Peel don't care. They've already gone on the recruiting rampage.

SC30, any chance of getting your facts right before you claim to know all about a topic??
You obviously know nothing about the Bakari Royals multicultural program. It is still going and, in fact, going from strength to strength. Easily the most unique and constructive program in football currently IMHO. The program is unearthing some amazing talent, who are being fed into East Perth's senior and junior teams. It looks like about two thirds of the 30 boys in our last program, which finished in December, will be playing in East Perth zone in 2013.
I am one of the many coaches in the program and it is easily the most fulfilling thing I've done in football, including dev squad coaching and experience at senior clubs. The concept is amazing and each year, around 30 migrant boys become dedicated to our game because of it.
La Hincha, FYI the Bakari boys will continue on and get bigger and better. Guys like Agid Gardoud will go on to be very good WAFL players and very good citizens, which is the focus of the program coordinators. It's a shame that Subiaco don't care at all about the Edmund Rice program and are putting nothing into it. What will continue to happen (and it is already) is that migrant boys who want to become good at the game will be hoping they get invited to the Bakari Program.
Well done East Perth!!

Well, that's nice of you to give Subi a bake while you're here mate. Pretty unnecessary stuff I would have thought.

Not a bake, mate, just telling you what's actually going on.
Subiaco have done nothing for the Edmund Rice Lions. A lot of the Lions are in or want to be in the Bakari program because it extends them and begins a football journey for thos who want it.

Well, I'll ask some questions and see what's going on then.

Bakari Boy, the information that the program had ceased came from within the program. I hope for those numbers of players, was told two thirds had pulled out. Programs like these will always be worthwhile without question. More like Agid who has been playing well before the program existed will start or continue to play our great game and get the best from the associated coaches where ever they play.

SC30, your information is incorrect. 30 players completed the program in December.
The program is not continuous, It runs in Oct-Dec and again briefly in March by design. In the just-finished program, we could have had 50 boys in it if we chose to, but the coordinators of the Bakaris limit it to 30 to give the boys the best attention they can.
Agid had played 2 games of amateur reserves football before starting in the Bakari program. Feel free to talk to him about the program.
In 2013, I believe the East Perth junior comp will have an increasing number of African and middle eastern boys playing due directly to the Bakaris.
SC 30, feel free to ring EPFC and speak to them about the program. You will then have all the facts and are welcome to make up your own mind and give an opinion based on that.

Ok, the correct information is - The Edmund Rice Lions is an independently run organisation with the backing of the WAFC/Department of Sport/Stirling City council etc. Whereas, the Bakari Royals are run by the EPFC.

Subi provide Edmund Rice with footys and equipment and provide other assistance when it's needed though. Some of the boys have progressed to colts and development squads, ammos and juniors etc and the ones I have seen are doing well. They also represented Subi up in that exhibition game up at Joondalup on multicultural day.

So that's how it all works. Two separate entities I guess.
