Colts fall short after a good game of colts football.

EP were out of the blocks fast an posted a good score in the first but it was all she wrote for the next 2 quarters, it wasn't that they played badly it was more of a case that Peel played better and we did not capilitise on our chances. I payed particular attention to No 1 for Peel, Lachlan Riley. He is leading in the coaches award and worth a watch and yep he is pretty good, made the best for Peel but I thought others were better, their backline did a great job that allowed the mids and forwards to get their chances, Pina, Ewing, Tregenza and Cooke in the ruck. For EP Ruben Pasalich was outstanding with Hamer- Mathews, Msando, Cox and Miller all putting in creditable games, whilst Jordan Hayden did not pick many possessions he did a great job down back.

Peel did the same in the reserves but after a promising start fell well short only scoring another 1.1 for the rest of the game. The EP boys looked comfortable and accomplished in the tricky conditions. NO WCER players with Wellingham being the only 'senior' in the team and his experience did show. Players like Miller, the Young boys who whilst on gets a lot of the ball and the other doesn't both make considerable contrinbutions to the team and outcome. Nathan Eaton did great job but for me the best player on the ground for us was Tom Gorter. Tom has had to deal with football issues of late and has continued to work and yesterday showed that he will be a very good league footballer next year under a new and more encouraging league regime. A special mention abt the coach who has molded the group into a cohesive and effective group has to be made and I like a few of my football mates have to eat humble pie, well done Sparky.

The exhibition game was mmmmmm average! Once again I was pleased with the efforts of Wright, Hille etc but really pleased to see Callum Hart play a great game!

Thanks as always for your summary, Grump.
I didn't make it to Mandurah but it's becoming apparent that the reserves have the potential to make up for 2016, when they failed to deliver after going into the Grand Final as favourites.
There may well be league players hoping to be "promoted" to the ressies, given our senior team has won only 2 of their past 10 games (and the most recent victory was from a goal after the siren).
The colts seem to be just missing out in recent weeks, but - like the league team - are still an outside chance of scraping into the five (though everything would have to go their way).
