yesterdays game was a very good game of Colts football in fairly scrappy conditions, no rain but the ground was heavy and with a few wet spots.

The EP boys went out early and looked to be in control but the second quarter saw Swans exercise a bit more control around the ground, use the ball with a little more precision and show a little more class when it was needed.

This set the standard for the rest of the game and we were unable to reassert any control around the ground.

For Swans I thought Dent had a good game against the Amos boys and Mr Barns, he was supported by Armstrong. I think there are two talls in the in that quartet who worth a look at another level. I liked Hodders game and thought that Huntley showed a bit for Swans. For us I think that De Campo continues to show good form and that Stan Wright is worth a game at another level.

Sam PP played reserves and played well, his first action was to lay a tackle in his own robust style, the Swans lad took a while to recover. It was a strong legal tackle but is indicative how Sam plays his game. 2 goals also showed that he can play the game with his 18 or so touches.

Swans are not to be discounted when the whips start cracking, all in all a good game to watch.

He has played a couple of ressies games, got injured and had an issue with a numpty who made an accusation that was blatantly untrue and suffered a loss of confidence. He is also studying at UWA at a very high level and has had exams etc.

He is a good person and worth a look!

Congrats Grump....that was your 1000th post :P :P :P

The Hodder kid you mention from SD is an interesting one. Has had very low stats on a number of occasions but yesterday looks like he must have been given some freedom to play rather than a defensive negating role. I noticed in one of the early games of the season the look of surprise on his face when he was told to go to the middle by coaching staff for the last qtr. he then had an immediate impact in the guts. One to keep an eye on for sure. Seems to be a quiet kid so get his confidence up and bring him out of his shell and we might have found one as he has a good size about him.
