Seeing applications are still open for that position what your saying is if you have applied you won't be getting it and if your intending to apply don't bother!

The last 3 Colts Coaches at EPFC have been a nightmare and have caused more damage than anything. Typical of the current EPFC management! Look for the quick fix instead of trying to develop a coach within and work long term for the development of the club. Jobs for the boys though. Mark Winnett is good for that!

Clinton Ernst - No people skills at all. Didn't know how to talk to juniors. The language and abuse coming out of the box in the stands left many of us looking back at him rather than to the ground. Man handling players was very upsetting to parents also. Couldn't Coach, simple as that. A joke he lasted 3 years, should have gone after 1 season. Only won 23 games out of 61. Where was he before he was appointed? Won't see him after this season again either.

Michael Braun - Great player. Terrible coach. Again, no people skills and has a great deal to learn about how to develop and coach juniors. Again - Quick fix. Where was he before and where is he now? Only won 18 games in 3 seasons!

Chris Gerreyn - Another coach who did nothing for the development of the juniors at our club.

Now Michael Pratt - Don't know him, but it appears he has been in the system for a number of years. Hopefully this is not another band-aid solution.

Be interesting to see how many people have actually been interviewed for the role? I would bet my left one that NO-ONE has been interviewed.

My point? The "Outsider" approach clearly has not worked over the past 9 years. Why the hell have we not got someone within who can take on this role?

Was Clint an outsider? Thought he did well to make finals this year with what he had available. Although I think a change will be good.

Not only East Perth has a jobs for the boys attitude the system as whole starting with the WAFC and their Academy operates along similar lines. Apparently you are a shoe in if your the Football Managers mate at a WAFL club. Can't coach or communicate not a problem!. Most clubs advertise for nothing more than protocol and equal opportunity blah blah blah.

Ob, I think that clints evolution as a colts coach should be mearused on results yes but also this year rather than have the typical drop off of attendance at training we saw a a maintenance of over forty right upto finals. He improved in a lot of aspects of the trade.

I won't comment on whether or not he was good bad or indifferent as i have some loyalty to him from his work through the development squads to colts.

As for your comment abt the coach coming from within I would have thought having the best available would be best.

I have not worked with Pat as a coach and thus would not be able to comment, and if and when I do work with him I won't comment then, the results and team have to do that!

Pat. Is a great choice. He has been an assistant at senior level and coached development squads for many years. He is a quality person and has very good communication skills with the young guys. He will be able to set up a very good support structure araound him as he is a very popular person and will be great for East Perh.
