Ted passed away on the 10th aged 90. Ted lived in the same house in Kenwick ever since i can remember. I can still picture him playing his first game for Kenwick after his East Perth years. RIP

I never had the pleasure of seeing Ted Kilmurray play but was lucky enough to chat with him at a couple of club functions.
A ripper of a bloke and one of Jack Sheedy's stars in those very good East Perth premiership sides of the mid-to-late 1950s.

Vale Ted Kilmurray. He was the master of the infamous "flick" pass. A great player for his club and the State.

A great name from a great era who thankfully has passed away at a ripe old age.Ted played a bit before my time, but that golden era forged the beginning of my family’s Royal connection, where my Old man and his brothers we’re fortunate enough to watch him and Polly and Co.when they lived in the migrant Hostels and accommodation on Parry street, just a few yards behind the magnificent Old Perth Oval, and although there interest has steadily waned in the last 70 years,me and my young fella are still hanging in there.

firstly my thoughts go to Ted's families - he was one of our state's finest footballers in what was a tough era only just after the second world war , he & Graham Farmer were probably the first two exponents of the flick pass which was really a piece out of South Australian & the unwiped arsehole of Australia (Victoria)

The other thing is that I have been forced to erase one individual due to legal reasons - and also I have erased that cunt competition's logos because I refuse to publish promotion of that dogshit competition

Actually come to think of it , that is an insult to my dog's arse

Lastly there are the two best footballers I ever saw play the game in this photo - and the most explosive , mercurial &  incredible player in BIG games is sadly no longer with us and our game is bloody worse off for it

Hope you enjoy the picture

PS - Ted Kilmurray is in the back row middle wearing a WA black & Gold tie !

As a young lad of nine i attended my first wafl games in 1964 and saw three games including two wins in a very miserable year.
East Perth came last with only three wins in a rebuilding team which still had several premiership players in the twilight of their careers.Ted was one of those players. The next year i saw Kevin Murray lead the team as captain-coach in a stand alone game against Old Easts which we won.It was also the debut of big bad Mal Brown and Bradley Smith.I was able to go to a lot of home games that year but was cheated of seeing much more of Ted as he suffered a knee injury early in the year which ended his football career. It was a golden age of WAFL footy which we will never see again.
