The big difference between yesterday and 2016 DG was the fact they had 17 of the pricks playing back then and the WAFC conspired to make sure its love child got over the line by asking the umps to favour the chunder as evidenced by the 19 to 6 free kick count. I think we received only one or two frees after half time from memory.

someone said to me after the game, don't get to gutted from the loss as it's just a game...some people have no idea what it means to follow and love a football club

Kalal, I reckon such comments are often just throwaway lines from passionate supporters.
I've made comments like that before and they've been designed to make me feel better (always unsuccessfully) after a Royals' loss.
And I absolutely love the East Perth Football Club.
Had we lost by just a few points, as we did to Claremont in 1996, I'd be inconsolable at the moment, but losing by 33 points means that there are no "what ifs?".
However, on the two occasions that we seriously challenged Peel yesterday, they had all the answers.
Not taking anything away from the Thunder, who were clearly the better side, but I rate these as our major failings/shortcomings yesterday:
(1) Too many players had "stage fright" - most had neither played at Perth Stadium nor in front of such a large crowd (which was still 5000 fewer than I thought it would be be);
(2) Our tackling and competing were good, but we lacked pace (always have, bizarrely) and couldn't counter Peel's outside run;
(3) Our lack of marking power up forward (until Harry Macreadie was moved into attack) wasn't helped by some poor delivery inside 50;
(4) We missed a number of gettable opportunities, and against sides like the Thunder you need to make every chance count (however, Sam Van Diemen was very good).

Congrats to EPFC on the minor premiership and making the GF, but I think you were always going to be pushing it up hill against so many professional players and you lacked the big impact forwards they had.

Perhaps karma for when you hosted the WCE and got flags. :)

I notice EP support base has dropped a fair bit was expecting a bigger turn out. Mind you WP v EP only pulled 20,000 years back.

I guess we are stuck with this for a while yet, The Sanfl host clubs seem to be utterly crap.

I wonder if the eagles will ever come good.

Comp is not in a good place.

35,240 at Adelaide Oval
Traditional rivals Glenelg v Norwood
Bays won
Perths new Wafl coach
Was the winning Premiership coach for Glenelg in 2019.Defeated Port Adelaide who had 17 Port listed Afl players.
Do yousrself a favour and watch the replay on 7 plus.

Terrific atmosphere , Adelaide Oval is really taylor made for these types of events smart design with grass roots feature like a hill and plenty of standing room still.

Really goes to show a big crowd in a smaller venue makes for a far better spectacle, even with 25,000 at Optus looked and sounded like a morgue at times, and camera scanning over 1000s of empty seats looks utterly appalling.
I’m surprised about these comments Bazza from someone who should know better about these alignments arrangements.Your club and Tigers were fully aligned in 1999,when your club had a dozen Dockers and lost the G.F to the Joondalup boys,and the Tigers quite ironically had a dozen Eagles which unbeknown to the Royals faithful,would be our last ever game at Perth Oval,where we knocked them out of finals contention,and salvaged something from our injury hit season,where our coach Worthington and players relationship was starting to fray,although playing in a GF and 2 finals,Wortho’tenure was a successful one.           So we and your club took over a reconfigured interstate alignment model for the 2000 and 2001 seasons,and we housed the Michael Obriens,Woodens Chambers Antonowicz’s who couldn’t get Claremont over the line,but apparently turned us into a juggernaut.Sharks may use these players as an excuse in 2000,but was your clubs excuse in 2001,when we bent over your club Doggy style,and spanked your club by 12 goals,did our 5 eagles in comparison to your 5 Dockers make us a 70 points better side???and you know as well as anyone that alignments ended in 2001,where you club still obviously realing from the previous seasons mugging failed to recover and missed finals,while we went on to our sweetest leg of our hatrick,and Spanked the Joondalup falconi’s in front of 31500 hundred fans on a miserable wet day.Also to all you Karma morons,we played a Tigers team in ‘96 that housed 8 dockers and two 27 year old dual premiership players in Pyke and Lewis,and went down by 2 points,but we took it on the chin,and didn’t behave like whining little bitches like other club supporters,so we will reload and go again.
