A comfortable win in the finish, but Swans will be kicking themselves (excuse the pun) for their third-quarter inaccuracy after controlling the play.
Had Swans been 14.9 instead of 9.14 at three-quarter-time, East Perth may well have battled to wrest back the lead in the energy-sapping questions.
I was amazed at how easily Swans found a teammate in the first three quarters and how many players in black-and-white guernseys were unmarked.
However, credit where credit's due, because the boys heeded Ross McQueen's message and produced a dominant last quarter.
Having been "out-possessed" by South Fremantle (335-303) and then Swans (372-300), the Royals seem to be playing a more direct game style than last year.
Our sometimes-maligned defence has stood up thus far, while the two ex-Falcons, Tom Medhat (6 goals) and Liam Tedesco (4.0), just couldn't miss yesterday.
Happy to have Hamish "Hammer" Brayshaw on the paddock again, but the one downside was Angus Schumacher reportedly being concussed; if so, he'll likely miss the Peel game in Mandurah and the Anzac Day clash with Perth at Lathlain.

Yes we’ve had a very solid start to the season, and for the first time 6 seasons into the post alignment era,we finally seem to have a lot of depth.Harrison Macreadie has competently filled the void of the much needed solid key defender, and given the backline an overall much more balanced look.Mitch Crowden was always going to be a handy recruit, but he has exceeded all expectations, and his drive, poise and exquisite ball use and on field leadership has been a sight to behold, and I have to retract my initial thoughts that he would be a downgrade on Jackson Ramsay, and unheralded Joondalup and Wanneroo amateur player Luke Tedesco has been a revelation in the forward line.                                           ::::        I suppose the only downside would be that the w.end side contained only 7 home grown players, which comprised of 3 player from the “ever reliable S.W.zone,2 from the underwhelming Ellenbrook area,1 from Noranda and 1 from Bayswater Morley,so that’s a paltry 4 players from our metro zone,so after losing something like 10 points in the cap last season after playing finals,it most certainly is an area of concern, but probably no surprise,as our traditional metro zone has been on the steady decline since the early eighties, and the suggestion that relocating to whiteman park maybe the panacea to remedying the paucity of metro talent we have in our allotted metro zone,is sheer folly,as the output of talent from the nearby vastly populated Ellenbrook has done very little to increase our league metro talent pool.

I share your concern about the lack of homegrown players in our line-up, RL.
Yesterday, we had 8 "locals" against Peel and it would be good to increase that number to 11.
Not that I go to Ellenbrook much these days, but I do recall seeing this big ground up there with lots of soccer matches being played on it.
However, I don't think Ellenbrook has been that unkind to us, with Mitch Schofield and Kye Willcocks being automatic selections in our match-day 22, while Sebit Kuek (and wouldn't it have been wonderful to have a fit Sebit in our line-up yesterday), AJ and Tarir Bayok are all from Ellenbrook, if I'm not mistaken.
While the South-West has been a consistent provider of Royal talent, I don't think it's been as good in recent times as 20-25 years ago when the likes of Jeremy Barnard, Troy Butcher, Aaron Marley and Rod Wheatley, along with Craig Glancy, Tim Lyster and Andrew Waller, were integral members of our team.
