Congrats to Hamish and the EPFC on the Sandover success.

The Brayshaw clan are certainly blessed with the sporting gene. From Sticks Brayshaw down to Andrew Brayshaw and all in between, whether it be with a bat/ball in hand or a footy, all are very talented. Got rolled a few times by both Mark and James in under age cricket. Whilst dad/grandad Sticks was a fantastic cricketer, who deserved to play test cricket, how he didn't, is still bewildering till this very day.

Well deserved win, such a consistent player in the comps best midfield.

It really is a mid-fielders medal, 9 of the top 10 were mids, only Zac Clarke the outsider. I was expecting Clarke to finish top 5 at least and Eastland to be in the top 10. The last bloke that was anything like a ruckman to win was Delahunty but he played more as a tall mid.

Congratulations to HB on a wonderful achievement.I think here’s a player who maybe wasn’t blessed with the skills of the “stars” of the competition but he always gives 100% and is so determined in every game he plays.Love to see players like that succeed and good on him.Enjoy the accolades.

Well done to Hamish Brayshaw, who the the East Perth board obviously didn’t rate in 2021,when his previous coach attempted to recruit him after he was delisted, and his efforts to rekindle their previous successful relationship which yielded a premiership for the Sandringham Dragons as coach and captain in the elite TAC cup was rebuked, but fortunately in 2022 sanity prevailed when the board relented and agreed to recruit him,and Hamish has more than proven his worth ever since. This is the same board who had no qualms giving the green light to recruit players like Narrier and Elijah Taylor, despite the reluctance of the coach who had reservations with one player in particular,so we have to be very grateful of Scott Jones’s friendship with delisted Dockers Crowden, and North which apparently was instrumental in their decisions to wear the blue and black,as well as the the assistant coach with Wanneroo Amateur connections, who enticed Tedesco and  Raykos, have also been very handy additions, and has given the football department, who in previous seasons, have served up more misses than hits,an air of competency.

I had no problem with the Taylor recruitment even though it was a long shot.   One thing is for certain finals are hard to win without a star forward or two.

In a perfect world Larry he would've been a great pick up,but after I could smell grog on his breath when I was introduced to him at his first night of training, you knew it would be pointless exercise in futility, which concurred with the initial thoughts I had when he returned back to Lathlain after he was de listed by the Swans.

I see wc are going to put their foot down on their employees playing for other wafl clubs next year, so tough decisions for the likes of hamish, rotham and waterman. Interesting times
