Games against the Demons never seem to go to the script that most pundits put forward and this game shapes as one that will be hard to pick.

Although not being in most folks top 5 we are 2 and zip (which for one well informed commentator on another club's thread must be amazing given he rates as not very good at all!). What has changed, well we have picked up a couple of complimentary recruits, complimentary to the existing talent we had but which was used in various ways that was not to their or the team's benefit. We now seem to have a belief in the talent, the approach and the style of play we want to put on the field.

The Demons have a new coach who based on reputation and record should make a difference to the fortunes and whilst it is not apparent yet (forget last week's game they were on a hiding to nothing, and they got the ..... ).  They have some good players who will take time to get the process right but that could be this week.

I always recall a recent game where we went as the favor team and Logan MacDonald tore us a new one, whilst the Demons may not have a similar player they will still be dangerous.

Grump, your post reminds me of the Subi fans a few years back who kept describing games as "danger games" even though everyone knew the opposition had no chance. Perth have no chance against EP. I will be happy if we can lose by less than 10 goals.

Ok, but like you I have followed my team for as long as I can remember and like you have had an era of being disappointed so until we show a level consistency then I will be wary of what we put on the field and who we play.

Have to agree with TN on this one Grump in that EP would be warm favourites for this. However I think 10 goals is a bit high because P will need to show something after last week.German is too good a coach to not have his charges mentally prepared for a better effort.Yes the P boys will say you have to have the cattle to perform but they have shown some glimpses(started reasonably well in both games) and EP have switched off for a while in both games so that's why I suggest it might be closer than anticipated.Having said that I know who my money would be on.

If you took out our  ''Foreign Legion''midfielders like Brayshaw,Crowden,Schumacher,Scott,North,Tedesco and surprise packet Pearce out of the engine room, and replaced them with local metro and country zoned players, this game would be a nail biter.

RL your comment abt Pearce is right on the money, he is a surprise, but I thought coming from Claremont there might be a bit to like, great first two games.

Also whilst not wholly convinced abt Bonomelli he has shown n that perhaps he has regained his zest for the game and will get even better as the season goes on!

Our ressies are struggling but as players get fit and available (Randall) we may see them move forward.

Dittmar injured and Robertson are the outs, one injured other not sure but will be missed for his robustness.

It looks good but not knowing much about Perth I would still be wary. We should win and I hope we win well!

Grump, if your boys play like they did in the first half last week and can stretch that out for the full game, you will win very well.

Ok I will resist calling games danger ones, I did not go so have only watched the highlights and looked at the stats and as we all know stats can tell many a story, yours , mine and someone else's.

The statistics suggest that Perth want to handball a lot 31 more than EP, but one thing stood out to me Perth had 8 players with more than 20 possessions EP had 9 so you might think where the issue for Perth was! But none of the Perth players had over 20 kicks , EP had 4 with over 20. The highlights do not show much but was it abt the pressure of EP forcing Perth to HB due to pressure or is that the Perth game plan.

From the little I saw it just seemed to be a dominate performance by EP.

The reserves for EP got beaten and I am not sure what that is suggesting but I suppose as long as the league wins is it an issue.

I watched the colts game in between doing other stuff and it would appear we are having what can only be called an average season whereas the Perth zone is bearing some rewards.

Apart from complancy i thought it was unlikely that Perth would get close.A huge gulf in talent between the two teams. What is a worry is we have not played four consistant quarters this year..We had two good quarters in the first and third were out scored in the second and fourth by a point in each quarter. You can't even use the excuse about kicking with or against the wind.At the moment it is working as we have had good leads at half time but when we meet the better sides we will need to be on the ball for all the game.
