Well in the absence of anyone else making a comment abt the upcoming season I suppose I will, at least I can attach something to it and not have it deleted but heaven help me if I use more than three expletives.

I know that at least one person reckons we are finals bound but sadly after watching three scratch matches I wonder where we will end up. Our backline looks capable, our mids could be good as long as they stay fit an on the park but kicking goals is going to be an issue unless and it is a biggish unless the coaching department plays Graham as the FF, Kuek as as floating pocket or half forward. Graham takes and importantly holds marks.

The stand outs from the three games were Ameduri, Msando, Edwards - Baldwin, Medhat, Hammersley, Brayshaw (a bit) and Hayden. Others contributed but these players did it a bit longer and with a bit more class. The biggest standout was Jed Busslinger with Rueben Ginbey just behind, both are worth a look as they will not in all probabilty be at the club next year.

Annandale looks like likely type for us.

As for our opponents in the games, the distance between us and Peel is about as far as the drive from Rushton to Leederville, East Freo looked good with Marsh and Eardley bullying what was a make up team out of the way ans Swans looked quite slick albeit against another make up team.

The colts looked ok against EF and Peel, swans were just better all over the ground.

I notice with some amusement that Randall is still on the list, given he is likely to get 2 years or perhaps a bit less is he really worth the effort and perhaps a little due diligence was needed

i think anyone who think we are top 4 bound are deluded.we have to improve a lot and looking at our ins and outs i'm not convinced we will improve enough.a lot of questions to ask about our recruits.randall's status, wallis hasn't played a scratchie is he even in the state with his fathers health issues?will taylor be able to knuckle down or have off field issues.is there improvement in the group with players like ditmar, boules etc.

Chaddy.

I reckon players like Dittmar, Regan and Harbour do offer a lot of upside as does Peak (albeit a little short) Graham certainly does, Boules is another that should be in the line up and given a fir chance to prove themselves.

I will be a bit negative but Robertson needs to decide on his future now, there are a few distractions in his life with work, family etc (heresay not fact but the source is reliable) and he needs to lose some weight if he is going to be a first choice forward or mid!

Can’t disagree with anything said on the thread. I think we have depth of average to good players. But we don’t have the athleticism or quality talls to compete properly.  When I have pushed the club on this I was told we can’t get the players required within our salary cap.  So basically the club is unlikely to ever compete for a premiership again under the current system.

Royal 2019,I do not agree that we cannot press higher in the table and compete but it is abt  being brave and persevering with young players who have the qualities we need, Dittmar, Harbpur, Regan & Graham (sounds like a broken record but ....). These players along with Ramsay, Jones North, Msando etc will give us the boost we need maybe not at the outset but given the opportunity in the latter half of the season.

We need to be brave and not to be afraid the admit that some of the players who were regulars last season are not were we need to be and look to our future.
