What do you say when your team is not doing that well and we get to play the reigning premiers at their ground in winning form.

I suppose a more positive supporter would say we can do it, we're in with a chance but realism says as long as we don't get blown away, the umpires pay the right free kick in the dying seconds and it is a good game then it is worth the travel.

The EP reserves need to get a wriggle on if they don't want to end up going from Choccies to left over chewing gum.

The Colts is another top of the table clash and will be a great clash with both sides playing great football.

From what I saw last week during the middle stages of the game, East Perth are capable of at least giving a side like Souths a run for their money. I am convinced that they would have beaten Swans if they had kicked straighter in the 3rd quarter. They have to play their best footy for longer than 2 quarters though. You can't give any team a 6 goal start like last week.

EP have been dissapointing so far this year for mine, but our last Qrt fade out v Subi gives me some concern, this week should be a chance to put that right and play the entire game out to the end.

Conditions look perfect I'd like to see a big score, and as SOUTHY says this is not one to take lightly, I want to see a full bore 4 Qrt display.

disappointing is one way to describe it from my viewpoint but others hold out for the light at the end of the tunnel.

Back to the game, just had a look at the teams and i am flummoxed, seems there are more changes than there are actual players on the list. Some new names in the ressies and some that have disappeared into the ether!

One selection is Schumaker and that bodes well but a bit hard as a first game back.

unfortunately east perth have not been able to field a best 22 in any game.even with schumacher back we have now lost wilcocks for a month, hayden for the season, ramsay is still a couple of weeks away and watts a month away.too many losses over summer has left us with very little depth and showing not only in the league side but also in the ressies.the colts are the only bright light in a very gloomy season so far..

I think we're the best 0-5 team in WAFL history.

We certainly couldn't fault the boys' endeavour, royallucky, but today was another game (after last week's near misss) that we had plenty of opportunities to win.
Had Jayden Magro been able to convert his difficult set-shot from the right forward-pocket to give us the lead with five minutes to play, we may well have had the momentum to go on and win.
We dominated the first 10 minutes of the third quarter and much of the final term but just couldn't get reward for effort.
The Bulldogs were a bit surer with their disposal and that ultimately proved the difference.

As i said before Arch Barney has been given no favours with our lack of recruiting, which was highlighted by the impact of Souths Victorian recruit the big Schlongerwho absolutely killed us in the backline and of course Schloithe who needs to be tagged, but i see many promising signs and we will eventually find the finishing line with our noses in front in most of these games.

Not much to add to the comments already on here.

The reserves had the chance to win and turn around their season but have lost the understanding of how to win the game, talking to a couple of players later (two experienced and one up from colts) they all said it was just abt knowing how to stop SF from continuing their run in the last quarter.

The main game was for me quite a scrappy affair with SF being able to move the ball at will through 2/3's of the ground but being stopped by North, Eaton, Msando, Fullgrabe, Cahill and Edwards-Baldwin, but for their tireless work the margin would have been much greater. In the middle it was abt possession numbers vs quality of possession and Souths had it over us all day. Down front 2 players with 2 goals and then singles.

Souths were just better and deserved their wins on the day but there is an improvement which will be tested next game!
