The NBL didn’t hesitate to announce the Best Defensive player award will now be called the Damian Martin Trophy. Very fitting.

A few guards in the NBL will be sleeping easier with the news of Damo's retirement.
Sheesh he used to terrorise those big name imports like Casper Ware, Machado, Trimble, Randle, Jackson etc.
Hopefully Mitch Norton can step up into Damo's high tops after doing his apprenticeship under "the terrier"!

Yes, injuries getting the better of him. Better to bow out now than keep playing on and exposing to more risk.
