Interesting perspective. Please tell me in what way the WAFC is assisting Perth. It's news to me and I'd like to personally thank them.

But regardless, nothing will stand in the way of a Subi clean sweep, so drop the false modesty and talk of danger games. Maybe try that next year if you happen to lose a couple of players.

The results would show that observation to be self-evident, would they not?

That Jack is arrogant and an insult to the rest of the Clubs.

You are the one who decided to revisit the issue, DF.

Merely stating an apparent fact is hardly arrogant or insulting.

Interesting times ahead, everyone expects Subi to at least be there on the big day, but just watching whats happening in the VFL and the results are not going the way of the teams fancied in pre-season predictions. We might excuse WC due to the hub, but Richmond are playing poorly and now the Pies have come back to earth after a strong start (June premiers?)

So lets hope there are plenty of upsets and all teams apart from Peel are in the mix right up to finals time. With just 8 games you wouldn't want to hit a flat spot at any stage, 5 wins and a good % should see you into the top 4. My final 4 in no particular order are Subi, SF, Perth & Claremont. The final round could see several teams having to win to make it in, lets hope so. Still should get good crowds for rnd 1 if it's a fine day given the Feo/WCE game is on the Sunday.

Part of a good article by JT in today's West.

Subiaco have set a target of 15 goals during this year’s shorter WAFL matches after coach Beau Wardman predicted a more explosive form of football this season.

While the WA Football Commission has resisted calls to use the nine-round season to experiment with rule changes designed to reduce congestion and promote more open football, Wardman said there was likely to be a natural shift to faster ball movement.

The reigning premiership coach was confident that his fellow coaches would attempt to drive a more traditional style of WA football given the absence of any AFL-listed players in the competition this season.

“We were advocates for rule changes like the last-touch out of bounds free kick to keep the game open and differentiate it from the AFL,” Wardman said.
“I think we will see more open football and we have certainly been working on that at training.”

SANFL have the last touch rule, so don't see an issue with that in WAFL as long as the maggots can be consistent. SA teams & crowds seem to have embraced it. If Wardman is correct about a more explosive brand of footy by WAFL teams then it could be a short fast and furious comp which will be great.

I contacted the club about scratch matches too SS and apparently there's one against EP this coming weekend then another against EF the following weekend before the season starts. I was told details will be on the club website soon.
