BC wrote: Well...that was much better. Some elite ball movement down the ground and tackling pressure was immense. Our backs stood tall again with the same names like Lockyer, Litherland, Heal, Clark, Kennedy, Braut getting the job done week in week out. Mids were good although I thought Kitch turned it over a bit and Deluca was a monster on the contested ball. Newton good, Horse excellent, Maxy Walters looked to have more clearances than anyone on the park. Dela playerd his part, Rhys Waters a standout and Soks hit the scoreboard finally this week. A special mention for courage to young Borchet who collided heavily with a point post and I thought was definitely done for the day but courageously soldiered on after a bit of a spell. Fimmano looked to dislocate his shoulder but hopefully it won't be anything long term. I thought I heard Harry Marsh say he's back next week which will be a bonus up at Bogandean. All in all a good solid win and a bit of a return to form.

Yes much better allround team performance, the backline was superb lead by Locks, Gus & heal, they could well be the state halfbackline. Forwards were far better organised and the conversion rate was much better, had a lot to do with the delivery into the forward line which had the boys shooting from better angles. Max Walters continues to lift his performance, same for Greg Clark. Great to see 12 individual goal scorers.

Smashed in the hitouts again but Sutherland was much improved around the ground and Dela was the dominant big man around the ground, really an ectra mid the way he plays. our mids adapted well to the fact our rucks would be outgunned.

Swans next week who will be up and about after breaking their duck against Joondy.

I thought they used Sutherland a bit better this week by throwing him forward more often and using Dela in the ruck for longer periods than previous weeks. It allowed Dela to have a greater impact up the ground and Sutherland to hit the score board as well as being hard to match up on in the front half. Clark is an interesting one when you consider he's still only 21, 191cms and played 50 league games at a time when the club has been particularly strong. Could he get a chance at the next level I wonder?

We were pretty good but peel were half arsed a lot of the time, the same problem wc/ferals had in previous years. I also thought Sutherland was pretty good , he's fit and strong. Reminds me a bit of 88 premiership ruckman Graham Jones, not flash but has a good crack. Clark has really stepped up this year. Deluca was bog imo, fark he is hard at it. Litherland would have to be close to the quickest in the WAFL. Bad luck for Fimmano he was starting to find form and top job from Borchet he hit that post hard

DG...I went along to the ressies earlier than usual to have a good look at Mayo and reckon this kid could be anything. He's got size, poise, a good footy brain and as you said over on the other thread, he played forward on Saturday for 3 qtrs of the game before going down back and did well kicking 3 goals. I can't see him not getting drafted but if we can keep him for another couple of years reckon he'll turn into something special.

I also like the look of Christian Martin who is only 19 and 194cm but looks very good playing as a key forward. He's kicked a few in the last couple of weeks so think he could be persevered with over time as well.

Cheers for that info mate I haven't seen a lot of him but he sounds like he will be a gun. How did Vermeesch and Scafidi play?

Both very good. Vermeesch kicked 3 and Scafidi had it over 20 times so both went well.

Lot of pressure on the league guys from the ressies which is ideal, plus Clanger and Halligan yet to come back from injury. Good tests to come from Souths, Claremont and Perth so we will need to continue the improvement from the Peelmantle game as any of those 3 teams will roll us if we are slightly off our game.

yep...agreed SS...plus Drew Rohde, Rowan Powell and Harry Marsh to come back yet...so not looking too bad after 4 rounds but as you say, a couple of tough ones to come including the bogans this weekend.
