high jumper numbers for the era 1980-1990 -- number 26 and up

from the back line

douge reeves lohoar

zanotti wilkinson sparks

hutchinson d. kemp dargie

thomas mccfaull warner

court p. wilson heady

murray d perry loxley

l perry g kemp jones tucker

Some useful names --actually makes you wonder whom the club gave the number 1 and other low ranking jumpers throughout the decade? We lack a class key forward. Other clubs could pick better sides, although Perth and EF would struggle, because, from memory they listted sides 1-29.

East Fremantle had a few who spring to mind from the era, George Christie #40, Andrew Lockyer #45, Brad Tunbridge I think was #50 and Wrensted #32. Bryce Forman was #30 too I think.

For the Lions wasn't Rod Willet #26? If he was would have a least made the bench on that side.

oolll: some good blue and white names there including a Sandover medalist as you know; I will never foget the number 45 for his tackle on Crutchfield which turned that second semi around. Your right about Willet I would swap him for Sparks on the half back line. He can play from the bench instead of Leon Perry.

How could I forget the legend himself, bloody Brian Needle #28 resolute as always in the last line of defence with the considered raking kicks back into play from the Marmion St end.
Although he was a much better full back in the late 70's with one Doug Green at Centre Half Back.

Did Greame Kickett wear a high number at one stage?

For Subi, one should also mention, Greg Kelly, whom wore the number 32 in 1984.

I did get confused about Durack, he was #50 and not Tunbridge, from memory that made Tunbridge #48

Didn’t the great Malcolm Brown wear 99 for the Bulldogs, think he wanted the number to be 100 but it wouldn’t fit!

HI Guys, great topic, got me thinking. Although my jumper number data is a work in progress, I do have enough to create a page where you can see who wore what number by season. This will help you out. You can search by team and by jumper number from 1-100 (Yes Browny wore #100)

You can access the page from the Player Records menu items or directly from the link below.

waflfootyfacts.net/player/bynumber.php

Enjoy!!
