two others to do okay were:

Sheldon and Meirs
Bease: Do you know where Peter Bedford came from?

Gordon Polson was used by Cometti as a half forward with reasonable results, he played most games including the 1st Semi and Prelim after transferring across 1/3rd into the 82 season. There was another fella who was a victim of the $ubi fall out that I am interested if the "Don" AKA BH can provide any further information on and that was Frank Buktenica. He played a few games for WP, I actually have a bit of footage of him, he looked like he had a shag pile rug strapped to his back it was that hairy :)

I wish I could bat even half as good as "The Don" Leedy!!

Did you mean Frank Bucknall the ex Subi & WP player?

And AR did you mean Peter Belford?
Peter Bedford was the ex S.M/Carlton Brownlow Medallist recruited from VFA club Port Melbourne.

BH: Polson was an interesting one because he palyed some reasonable footbal for us in 1981 and was in the league side at the start of the season. Bucknall was also in the side early in the season.

DG: I remember Forbes being a sprinter -- he ended playing colts, as you know; agree that Castles had his moments.

Another one whom came over was Bill Dunne, whom made some impact early on under Peter Daniel.

DG wrote: I’m pretty sure there was talk of Lauristson from south’s joining us, he would’ve been handy. Forbes was a champion sprinter pity he couldn’t play footy for shit. Meirs was a thug but handy. Peter Castles was another, big strong boy but fringe

Lauro was playing coach for the Dampier Sharks when I went up there in 1984. It could be 35 degrees and he'd be wearing a long sleeve jumper...was still capable of taking a hanger though.

Polson came over West from Footscray AR.
There were a few that made the trek from the Western Oval (as it was known then) to the WAFL in that same time period- Polson, Bradmore, Perrin, Foreman, Davis, Munro mostly to either SU or WP for some reason?!
Actually both clubs recruited a lot of Vics back then!

Noel Muggavin was another one at WP; Bradmore did a great job for the club.

Foreman was a very skilled player at WP but was injury prone. Noel Mugavin is the Uncle of Jonothan Brown. Perrin was a goodn too.

Leedy do you remember Mugavin running the length of the ground and scoring a goal. Was involved in about 5 passages of play before he kicked the goal. Then Chris Maintaining had a shot after the siren .Kim Rodgers on the mark.1985 I think.

Furthermore to add for Bucknall Leedy he was recruited from Wembley Amateurs.

Yes I do GTR, he slipped out the back of the pack and a WP player cleverly got the handpass away and he kicked a scrubber for a goal. The strange thing that game was the goal that put us in front from memory there was four WP players in the vicinity of the goal square with not a defender in sight and Evans bagged a big one.
