From my point of view I don't believe there is any WAFL venue which has sufficient lighting to play night games. Also, given the demographics of the WAFL supporters playing a night game perhaps mitigates against older supporters attending. Further I believe there was a Colts' game played at 4.15 or therabouts on Friday - doesn't this represent a difficulty for players who either work or attend school; the parents of those players for similar reason of work commitments. Overall, I just don't see how it could possibly be of any real benefit.

I guess we'll see how it goes mate. I'm pretty sure though that when we avoid Eagles/Dockers live/TV matches we'll always do better. It doesn't seem to matter if it's Friday, Saturday or Sunday, as long as the Dockers/Eagles aren't playing we seem to get a good turnout. The Perth v East Fremantle figure will be interesting. Hopefully 2600-2800 or thereabouts.

I agree with your point about the quality of the lights. Very poor standard. The Leederville lights aren't good enough and apparently have deteriorated even further since they were installed.

I went to a Friday night game in the Port in 2011 and there was hardly anyone there mind you it was rainy, pretty sure it was West Perth and Souths.

Again we start the debate of what the WAFC can do to stimulate a bit more interest in the WAFL. I noticed the Foxtel Cup has been cut back and that's a shame. With the Tigers winning it last year and coming Runners Up the year before it gave a bit of exposure to the WAFL.

Not sure what the hell they can do.

Ok it's taken me this long to get over how disappointing our performance was on Friday night. After matching Claremont in the first quarter and wasting the chances we had we were basically nonexistent thereafter and couldn't put together any good passages of footy for the remainder of the game.
Claremont did look impressive and obviously have good players on all lines and were far too skilled and organised for Subi.
I like the Friday night games however not on wintry type nights and obviously not against a local afl game. On the hotter nights very early in the season it is a good time to watch a game and enjoy a beer or two ,however once it gets cooler at night it is not as pleasant (especially when we are playing like crap!)
I wouldn't totally write off Friday nights but it has to be done smarter and promoted better as well.
Disappointed too that we lost a player again in the first quarter that hurt our rotations again. Maybe a sub like the afl could solve that inequity??

I can't see Subiaco experimenting and asking for a Friday night like that again? Maybe if there was no other events being held, it would have been more profitable. As some else mentioned, a Friday evening match would not be out of the question but it needs advertising and minimul influence from other events.

That figure is only 50 less than the crowd at the SD v SF game, so maybe we should be asking about the failure of SF & particularly SD supporters to support their club, far more concerning than the Su game which was doomed to have a small crowd.

Maybe Swan 42 & Swandog could enlighten us as to why a significant number of your supporters seem to have deserted the club?

Swans obviously dont use the same crowd calculator as Subi..
for LaHincha to say its the smallest crowd he has ever seen at a Subi game either he or the crowd number Subi released is wrong..
who do you think is wrong Senior Seagull ?

I don't man the gates counting them up though. For all I know there might have been 1,283 come through. I forgot about the 200 compensation for reserves also.

well as you are not sure we'll have to take the version of Tigeriffic and John Townsend who both think 500 or less and beign Claremotn suppoters they would know a low crowd when they see one.. :)
