Wet weather forecast for tomorrow which is a great leveler, as I said on the EF thread, we only need to look back to the Perth game last season in horrific conditions to see what can happen if we are not fully focused. That being said it will be disappointing if we don't win well given the current form of both teams. Fortunately the ground surface is in unusually good condition for this time of year given the long run of dry weather so it should cope ok with what is the first wet game day in a long time.

Appears that Litherland is the only casualty from the Souths game with Greg Clark named in the starting 18 and Latham listed on the bench, 1 of those 2 will get that defensive gig. Wouldn't expect any other changes as the team is now quite stable and putting together almost 4 qtrs of good consistent footy. Will be interesting to see how the Liam's cope in the wet, Ryan may find it difficult but Baker appears to be well suited for tough wet weather footy.

Subi v EF, top v bottom, wet weather, TV game .... crowd estimate 750 :(

My man Latham has had 3 kicks and a handball to half time, every one of them directly to an opponent. Just saying

Welcome back BC. Your right, for a significant part of the game, mid 2nd qtr to mid last qtr we were clearly on the back foot.

We started very well except on the board and that 1.6 could easily have been 6.1, missed a heap of very gettable shots, then got it together better in the first half of the 2nd qtr to have a decent lead but to the gummies credit they dug in and outplayed us from then on till they ran out of gas midway through the last.

They out worked and out ran us in that mid section and we were lazy and lacked discipline to man up. I think we got ahead of ourselves and became complacent. EF got the lead a couple of times and then within a couple of points midway through the last before we stepped up and rolled over them. Kitchen was bog for mine with 30 disposals and 7 tackles, Horse was solid with 25, Walters good in and under with 18 and 3 goals, Sokol was lively with 2, his lead up work was excellent just needs to tidy up his finishing, Ryan flashed in and out with just 10 disposals but still managed 4 goals, a couple were "joe the goose" types from the square but he ran hard ahead of play to be in that position, his ability to get good returns from very limited opportunities makes him so dangerous. Dela was very good with 17 disposals and 39 hitouts to be the dominant bigman on the ground in difficult conditions. Adamson continued his excellent form with 28 disposals and 8 tackles, did more work in the midfield as well, his pace strength and disposals are proving to be a potent weapon.

Schoey wouldn't be pleased with the lack of effort at times but a win is a win.
Now as we did won perhaps I shouldn't bring the umpires into it but ......really they do need to be mentioned. They were hopelessly inconsistent, some of the stuff they paid was bewildering then some of the stuff they let go was mind boggling. We were reamed in the count which ended up 25 to 15 but that was after getting 3 or 4 late in the last which "strangely" coincided with our 5 goal run!! Amazing what can happen when you get the frees that you should get.

We lost Phez before halftime with a leg injury which will likely see him miss the state game and Hampson came off midway through the last with what looked like another hammy so that's 2 key mids out of the state squad.

A couple of weeks off for most of the boys to freshen up before we face a very much in form Peel down at Disposable Syringe oval. Both the AFL reserves teams are in ominous form at the moment and look likely to take up 2 of the 5 finals spots unless their masters suffer a significant run of injuries .... we can only hope.

Only heard 2nd hand that Phez should hopefully be back for the Peelmantle game but Gus is 6-8 weeks with a fracture.

We will need everyone healthy and on the park when playing Freo down on their paddock in a couple of weeks.

cheers SS...lets hope that is the case for Phez as it didn't look good on tv and I was thinking a medial at best or an ACL at worst.

10 Weeks!! so he'll only just be back in time for finals, what a shame for him, he was having another stellar season and looking at another club F & B and a shot at the Sandover, anyway as long as he comes back in sound condition he will be vital come finals time. yes well deserved to horse getting the state captains job, he is one of the most respected players in the comp and a great communicator. Also well done to Clang for getting joint VC.
