That's a pretty good looking side. We're really only missing Dela in addition to those on long term injury recovery. I'll be surprised if Horse plays though unless his hammie was very low grade.

Yeah Horse is a bit of a surprise maybe why the long bench. The club would not take any chances with him so he must be right, but a wet night and shifting surface is not ideal for the best of hammy's. Kitch is a massive in for these conditions and they have finally seen the light and dropped Elliot. Would have liked to see Maxy Walters get a gig, would be valuable in the forecast bash and crash conditions.

apparently Horse was a glute or something similar and not a hammie which would explain his return after only 3 weeks.

As I said on the Souths thread, that was an excellent advertisement for WAFL footy tonight on prime time TV, two good teams going hard at it. Subiaco were just a little bit more poised in their disposal and took their opportunities when the chips were down. They responded well when challenged and South came at them pretty hard. Liam Ryan has a real 'x' factor about him and would have the AFL scouts salivating. Twomey also played an excellent game and Subiaco's defence overall is a pretty well oiled machine. Hopefully Kitchens injury was not serious.

Was worth the drive down from the wheatbelt, great game!
Our backline won us the game tonight standing strong in that last quarter Lockyer, Jackson, Twomey and the rest were all superb. Phelan BOG with another workman like effort, Kitch also very good. How good was Liam Ryan, his only competition for mark of the year is his 2 other screamers he's taken.

Stupid fixturing for the feature game of the round, Ch 7 have a lot to answer for.

But ... a high standard game given the conditions, both teams played with great intensity especially the tackling which was fierce from both teams.

The Doggies had the best of the stats sheet in all areas but Subi were a bit more precise and benefitted from being more accurate up until 3/4 time, we lost that in the last with 1.7 to 1.0, should have won by 4 or 5 in the end but against quality opposition a great result.

Phez was great again and must be a smokey for the sandover given his exceptional consistency, but looked gassed midway through the last, Kitch was great around the stoppages and kicked a blinder in the first but his injury is a real worry apparently a knee, Ryan was dangerous all night got 3 and gave off a couple, his mark was sensational, had to come off after it to get the snow off his head he was up so high. Twomes, Locks and the whole backline were really solid, only Saunders got away from them, he is a quality player and so strong at the contest. Special mention the Hoskins who had 20 disposals and 9 tackles, his pressure around the contest was great.

We started with some of our best footy of the season, clean centre breaks and the forwards were spreading well and we were accurate, that vanished in the second when Souths started to run really hard on the spread and were hitting up targets to turn it around with a 4 goal to 1 qtr. The third was a great contest with both teams bagging 3.1 to set up a great last qtr. Both teams were getting tired and I'm sure that's why we butchered so many chances, Souths looked like they were running on empty halfway through the last so a good sign for us that we ran the game out better.

Handy 2 game break on Souths but they have a game in hand. Bogundean at leedo next week so hopefully we can keep things rolling but as I said the injury to Kitchen is massive. Spoke to Dela and he said 3-4 weeks before he's back but he sounded confident he'll be up and about for the finals.

terrific effort by the boys. agree that the backs won it for us although in saying that I've been really impressed with Shep's work rate in the front half. he gets scragged and harassed week in and week out with no protection whatsoever from the maggots. the mids were good and think Kitch will be ok based on how he was moving around after the game....fingers crossed.

Reading the West and that as we all know is by no means the font of all football knowledge, they didn't list Kitch in the injuries so fingers crossed, he is so important to the teams structure. The paper also said that the SF back had Shep covered?? while extolling the virtues of Saunders who did play well and bagged 3 but Shep bagged 2 so not a lot of difference.

They had the crowd at 1441 which is a bit of a surprise but I didn't venture into the stand which may have been full, instead enjoying the warmth of the clubrooms which was well patronised

Good to see Rhys Waters get through the ressies yesterday with 11 disposals and a goal. It would be great to hve him up and about for finals. Bogensperger had it 30 times again and must be knocking the door down for a crack at the one's...I'm not sure what else he can do.
