Hang on how about the clown and his three mates sitting under the outer light tower on the wing, he was FFFing and blinding top of his lungs during the ressies and league, and he was a lot closer to all the kids there than you were! He is an embarrassment!

yep...the same applies to them in my book SD...btw....have you dropped the C bomb and wished opposition players would get hurt and tear their hammies off the bone again on here in recent times SD? i'd say you're right up there with those "clowns" if not worse.

I never said that in public with kids running around, huge difference

Pretty sure you're not allowed to be in any public place where there are kids running around.

Where I was sitting in the stand there was a swans bloke proudly wearing is "Abuse Crew" Swans t/shirt sitting down the front and his abuse was pretty consistent throughout in amongst some strong support for his team.

Anyway, back to the footy, Swans came out at the start with real purpose and a fair bit of aggression, right up in the Subi boys faces which I don't mind, it took some time but eventually it woke our boys up who, for a second week in a row were quite lethargic. After being well beaten and playing like sleepwalkers for 20 + minutes we ended up just 1 goal down at 1/4 time. Started to get on top in the second with a 3 goal to zip term and then dominated the third with 7 goals to 1 to turn at 3/4 time 49 points up and the chance to have a real % boosting win, but credit to the Swans boys they finished over us really strongly with a 6.2 to 3.5 last qtr. Really disappointed with the finish but a win is a win and at the moment with a number of key players out we'll take every chance at 4 points.

While young Bradley toiled hard in the ruck we got smashed by the 2 Swans monsters in fact Swans had a plethora of good talls while we fielded one of our shortest teams for some time. No Clang who has a quad, no Dela who aggravated a hip & groin injury during the EF game, but losing the skipper before 1/2 time was imho the reason why we slowed so much in the last. Horse is the on field assistant coach, super vocal keeping the boys minds on the task and that was sadly missing in the last.

The game was quite physical at times, Swans put a heap of pressure on Kitch but he still managed 17 disposals in a midfield that was the difference on the day. Phez with 29, Hoskins 26, Robbo 21 and special mention of Bill Feathers with 24 who had one of his best games. Cockie had just 12 disposals but his 10 tackles provided great pressure on the Swans mids. Good spread of 8 goal kickers was a good sign of a better more even functioning forward line.

The umpiring was at the very least confusing, but the Swans folk will have nothing to complain about winning the free kick count comfortably 21 to 16 plus a couple of the softest 50m penalties one would ever see, but in the end had no effect on the result and we just have to get used to Subi's massive imbalance in the frees for and against.

We have Perth at Lathlain next week, Perth are on a bit of a roll and with so many of our key players out it will be a great challenge to get over a resurgent D's.

Quality report senior...as one of the few SD supporters who don't umpire bash (I don't see the point in it) was hoping to ask you a straight question. Do you think there is umpire bias against ur mob considering the free kick stats continue to go against Subi?

that's a fair question DW...after the weekend we're still around -70 in frees for as opposed to against this season which is the worst in the comp. I think some of it may be because of an aggressive game plan but I also think there's some unconscious bias being the premiers last two seasons given numbers 2 and 3 are FART and WART which are not supported by your average WAFL fan. WP gets the best run and your mob is around even. You would think most teams would be around even give or take a few given the same rules apply to everyone but obviously that is not the case.

DW perhaps you can answer your own question with respect to do you think there is an umpire bias against Swan Districts?

the stats certainly don't show that 42 given you're in plus 12 territory over the season.

But it's where these frees are paid that is the reason Swans are wooden spooners

Cheers DW, no I don't think there's a conscious bias, maybe an unconscious one given our success in the last 10+ years, we are generally a bigger bodied team (not taller) with an aggressive attack on the ball, but given our win loss record indicates we are first to the ball on the majority of occasions you'd think the frees would be a bit more even.

Anyway on many many occasions we have had big wins and been smashed in the frees and then when we have lost and been in the positive, so like a lot of decisions in Saturdays match it don't make much sense.
