I never saw him play but I got notified by a post on my Lost WAFL Facebook page of the passing of an old Subiaco champion, I`m sure a few of you would have seen him play or heard of his exploits on the field

Very sad to hear of Wally's passing, a real Subi champion, A wingman who exuded class in everything he did on the field, had one of the best torps I've ever seen in my 55 odd years of watching footy. Was great mates with the legendary Austin Robertson and was responsible for providing him with plenty of opportunities with his precise delivery.

I happened to run in to Austin and Wally outside a café in Floreat just a couple of months ago, both were happy to chat with this Subi tragic.

He was only 75 which isnt too old by any stretch. Great to read of his exploits and standing as I never witnessed the 60's era of WAFL. Sounds like he would have made it in any era

Can remember Wally playing, a great player in a great era.
