I wouldn't come as a shock to know that bogan supporters have taken over from the joondy jerkers as the most disliked by Subi supporters on here. For that reason alone, this is a must win. Swans showed a bit against the Tiges last week so can't be taken lightly especially up at Incarceration Park. Kennedy highly unlikely to come up but here's hoping he's a straight swap for Broughts. Our intensity was good against the Dees and ball transition was fantastic at times but there's still room for improvement. Fingers crossed it'll all come together this coming weekend. It's on Channel Bully so I'll need to think about whether I borrow my son's 1990 Falcon, buy a mouthguard, anti-stabbing vest and get some penicillen injections and make the trek up there.

Mate I'll be watching it from the best seat in the house for games at Basso, 800km away in the mine site tavern.

HAHA nicely put BC, I'll be there even though it's on the TV, Basso is convenient for me being based in Bayswater, tipping a crowd will be around 2000 if weather is ok would be more if not televised. Always expect a dingdong battle when we play the ducks up there no matter what position the teams are on the ladder. They rolled us by a point or two up there last year during the cyclone, if it's that sort of game again it will be a bewdy but with us winning of course.

Schoey was pretty fired up at 3/4 time v the D's wanted a big finish to the game and he didn't get it, we were insipid in the last so I expect the boys will be getting the message loud and clear at training this week. Ressies are starting to get into some form so plenty of boys pushing hard for selection, both teams 2 & 2 in the ressies so should be another good game.

you never know what to make of these teams as they're never accurate..but anyway.... if fit you'd think Broughton and halligan would come in maybe Bradley and perhaps Bryan out of the starting 18...they may choose to give Halligan a run in the two's first.

B C Bryan D Jackson W Fetherstonhaugh

HB W Twomey J Lockyer A Heal

C B Robinson C Hoskins G Clark

HF A Cockie C Wheeler B Mahoney

FF J Joyce H Shepheard S Bradley

F L Delahunty C Phelan K Horsley

Int. K Halligan, L Kitchin, J Latham, B Sokol, G Broughton, S Mckenzie, M Bogensperger, J Bestry

just reading on the club website that they think Kennedy will be back after the bye for the big game v Souths. He will be very important as I expect he'll get the job on Ashton "Duck" Hams, being the same height as Duck he should be able to get under Ducks arm flicks and reduce the number of his cheating free kicks.

Sunday should see Broughton & Halligan come in, Halligan is likely to replace Dylan Clarke who was very quiet last week, Halligan has more to offer physically with a much bigger body, great overhead and just as good a kick. We all know Brought's quality, but a very different player to Kennedy, Brought's plays a similar defensive sweeper game as Towmey so will be interesting to see how that will work. If Brought's is in good form we could se either he or Towm's having an occasional run through the mids or going forward. Shepheard will have his hands full going up against Ames who if fit is still the best FB in the comp, I still reckon Shep would be better at CHF with more space to work in, then camp the resting ruckman at FF.

Dec Jackson had his hands full with Carey in the pre-season game and got a bath, so will be looking for a much closer checking/spoiling game from him Sunday. Carey and Notte are quality tall forwards that will test our backs but Lockyer is in super form and playe on taller opposition every week and is rarely beaten.

We should have the edge in the mids based on the form of Kitch, Phez, Cockie, Horse, Mahoney etc which has been top shelf in all games, Kitchin in particular has been dominant.

Good preview there SS...on another note, there's a fantastic article on the club's website about the young fella Lyndsy who dresses in full playing kit and waves the flag behind the goals at every game. Tracey Lewis wrote it so should be in this week's Budget. I don't think I've seen a more passionate supporter of any WAFL club than this guy maybe only rivalled by those two blokes with weird haircuts at Joondy..Lyndsy is an absolute credit to himself and it also makes good reading about what he's achieved as a footy player...an All Australian no less.

Halligan, Sokol, Mckenzie, Joyce, Bradley, all mid-sized or small forwards, so someone will be disappointed. If Halligan is fully fit then he should be a definite, needs a good solid run under his belt before we come up against a red hot Doggies outfit. Young Clarke is out, not surprised as he was ordinary last week.

Of that interchange list, Halligan, Kitchin, Latham, Sokol, Broughton, Mckenzie are the obvious selections unless Halligan plays in the 2's that would mean Bryon & Bradley likely to miss out. Good situation with plenty pushing up for selection.

Lyndsey's been around the club a long time and despite his challenges has achieved a lot. Passion doesn't quite describe his feelings for his beloved Lions.

I also see Rhys Waters getting another run in the two's. Only had it 13 times last week but should build over the next couple of weeks and be pushing up as well. I also wonder how far away Stevo is? He looks to be moving freely as a runner for the ressies so must be getting close to playing giving us another versatile big man.
