I am a freo supporter. Have seen Yarran 3 or 5 times and he looks terrible to me. very bad choice.. Sorry. Far too easily pushed off the ball and does not have the confidence.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

Mayne is one of the worst set shots for goal going around.....some of his misses are deplorable for the salary he is earning......tries hard and battles well above his height but I reckon he is one of the reasons along side Ballntyne why Freo can't take the next step.....forwards need to kick goals and Freo have very few who can do that.....yep great at locking in but pointless if the turnovers generated are merely rewarded with behinds! Walters is the only genuine goal kicking forward in their side....Fyfe may be seeing a shed load more time up front next year I reckon.....

Don't want to turn this into a freo topic but I reckon it would be fraught with danger having Fyfe spend more time up forward. You want a Brownlow medalist midfielder spending as much time in the midfield as possible. His strength is his contested ball winning - Bennell is not going to replace that.
Perhaps Yarran may put pressure on ballantynes spot - all the bloke does is strut around trying to play the tough midget getting in childish scraps and kicking bugger all goals!

Yarran is a lean forward and agree, against bigger body men may have a problem, but he does have speed and is agile. Probably best bet, a leading forward. Fremantle need staff that know how to draft. They've failed in most drafts and again, failed in this. Where does this leave Josh? Another wasted year at Peel?

They have performed pretty well over the past four years playing finals! Overall Fremantle have drafted pretty well considering. The only concern has been to secure a power forward to replace Pav, but it hasn't been for want of trying and has been difficult in recent years with their position in the draft.

Yazz is a super skillfull player certainly has the skill level to do well at AFL but it's his consistency and concentration that need to be improved, when he was on he was unstoppable at WAFL level, we all saw that in the GF against big bodied quality opposition. His history is something he has to overcome in the same way Krack did (not saying he's in that league) he has struggled since with off field issues and unstable work until Subi got him more settled. With a well paid job now and a settled family life I hope he can fully concentrate on his footy and show what he can really do.

He's an inbetween size, too tall to be considered a small forward like Walters or balla and not big enough for a KPP but super mobile and elusive and takes a big mark but as others have said needs another 7 or 8 kg's in the upper body to survive at the next level. I wish him lots of luck, except when he's playing with Peel against his old club.

Yarran never got tested once in the GF SS.. He was free to do what he pleased, won't be like that with the big boys! don't worry about his body & how it goes it's more his mental strength.. Love to see a luke hodge go up to him before the bounce & just say "boo" to see how he reacts..

If Josh Hill can play afl then Yarran will play, a good pre-season and would need to get fitter to play up the ground more but has natural talent and that is always a good start

With his Midvale origins and his recent background I don't think Yazz would flinch one centimeter. Hodge is a wonderful player but a dead set sniper and looking forward to the day he gets some of his own.
