If we can get Cockie back it will go some way to filling the gap left by Mena's departure. Not in his class but a great bash and crash player with solid skills who adds a real physical presence in and around the packs and would really compliment the more skilled mids like Robbo, Phez, Horse, Blech & co.

With two flags in the bag I'd really like the club to work with what's currently in the cupboard and see how we go, we have some top shelf home grown class coming back in with Broughts & TDL plus proven performers in Stevo & Stocks, lets see what can be done with that group and assess at the end of the season and make a judgement then if there are gaps to plug with recruits for '17.

Clark missed out on the rookie draft, hard to understand that, Capt of the WA 18's and showed he's capable at league level so not sure what else he needed to do.
He is the modern prototype for a midfielder, tall, quick and strong with good skills. Anyway we'll gladly have him for next season where hopefully he can make another step up.

agreed SS...its a bit of a mystery as I thought he acquitted himself quite well at league level...but as you say, we'll gladly keep him.

Add Blechynden,Latham,,Ashman and may be Tom Smith to that list.Ashman as a ressies Fand B from this year needs to be given more opportunities,especially when the conditions are wet.Hopefully youngsters like Walters,Grace and colt Ethan Burnett get an opportunity also.

Ashman isn't coming back Mudlark. Players who are gone from what I am aware are Rumba, Creeper, Ashman, Boland, Wortho and of course the 2 recruited to afl sides Mena and Yaz.

decidedly quiet on here in regards to new recruits with the exception of former AFL guys coming home. hopefully we'll stick with the squad we've got and give a few of the younger guys a bit more of a crack. schoewy did well this year blooding ressies into the one's and I guess they'll be given even more opportunity next year which is good.

Totally agree BC, we get local lads Broughts and TDL back and rumours persist about Cockie, plus Stevo will be like a new recruit after a year off with a knee so possibly 4 experienced local products back in the team. Then we'll have Stocks back to anchor the ruck which will allow Clang and Dela to have more KPP time. We will be very competitive with what we have and what's coming through, obviously losing Boland, Yazz and Mena will bring us back to the field but that's not a bad thing.
