It appears Rumba has officially retired after 229 games and 6 flags. What an ornament to the game and a true WAFL legend. For mine, I thought he could definitely go around again based on his form this year but apparently the decision has been made and its final. He'll certainly be missed and will always be known as an honest, tough, uncompromising player who gave everything for his club. Well done Rumba, enjoy your retirement.

Well said BC you only had to see him in the clubrooms after the game when he was brought onstage, he must be the most humble bloke going around, has always been about the team. He was only too happy to stop and have a chat and a photo when everyone wanted a piece of him. He will be missed on the field but expect he will be around the club and maybe will consider doing some assistant coaching one day.

Well done to Rumble for his 229 games. All defenders, irrespective of grade or era, appreciated his skills and particularly his ability to read the play - but I wish he'd played poorly against SD more often. Up there with Sarre.

It's hard to compare different era SH but agree..he's up there with the best FB's Subi has produced including Sarre and Col Williams.

On a lighter note, great picture in the paper of the Subi boys celebrating in fancy dress. Rumble was doing a Tiger Woods I assume, but the guy on the left of the picture in the skintight pants was probably showing a bit more of his tackle than he wanted to.....

Congrats to him, no chance of any regrets with 6 flags in the bag !
