Thanks AR .was not unusual a result at that time tho unfortunately ,I can still remember those years from 76-82 where we were losing almost every week and a win was almost like a premiership for some years!

Oh yes I agree with all of the above. The early 80s will be forever imprintted on my mind whatever the fortunes of the club in the present and into the future. The last decade or so has been very pleasing indeed, especially, as, looking back, we under-performed in the 1990s. What do you think?

Yes the 90's and early 00's were frustrating in a different sort of way for me. We always seemed to be finding some way to lose in finals thru that period after looking good at certain times each year. Probably not quite good enough or didn't work hard enough ? Peter German turned a lot of that around and seemed to change the culture of the club in his time.
It's the bad times that fans go thru that make the good times so much better. I remember the sheer joy and relief of 1973 !

Yes I remember one final against WP drove me mad, losing it by less than a kick; but, as you rightly pointed out, we were very patchy in those days. I am a bit too young to remember 1973, but it does not take too much imagination to realise the excitement of the time.

I certainly hope you are right about Perth -- their supporters definitely deserve some success.

Are you confident about the Lions for this season?

Well I'm probably more confident than I was at this time last year!
Will probably depend on how the recruits can fill the gaps from the lost players from 2014.
Sorry to see George leave after his heroic performance in the GF and Bristow , McDougall ,J Deluca and Hilda will all be missed.
Seemed to have good depth last year and hopefully that will continue. And a few of the colts can step up.
A lot of things went right last year and we slipped under the radar early , might be a bit tougher this year but we will be up there!

Thanks for your thoughts, they were very interesting indeed. All the losses will be felt, for me, the biggest being the ruck man, McDougall. Who do you think will be able to help Stokeley with the ruck duties?

Overall, I don't like to over state matters, so, let us hope that we will be competitive for the final five. In fairness, the second last we finished a couple of years ago is lingerring in the memory.
