Some good ins and some unfortunate outs.
I think Schoey is timing his run and making sure everyones a chance at selection next week for the finals, hence some being rested.

Subi have had their chances the last few weeks but on Sunday I don't think they'll win but look to have a real good hit-out which the Sharks will more than provide. The sharks have more to play for although as far as I'm concerned we need the win badly !!
The Sharks to win by 3 goals with Subi looking to rebound after 3 straight losses and beat the Weagles the following week and go into the grand ???
That's what Subi are planning on but I don't like that theory as winning form is good form. more than likely we get rolled by Weagles and have to face up against the Sharks again and turn the tables ???

Can we turn the tap on and off at will - Lets hope so ???

Good news in today's West that Boland will be staying in the state for another 5 years. Many interstaters come over for just 1 or 2 years.Certainly helps the club to plan the future better and Boland being good mates with Delahunty might give off another positive spin.Tomorrow we need to watch not only Rory but also Brock Obrien as he looked in great touch last weekend.I think maybe Abe Davey has been brought back to pick up one of them.He will certainly have his work cut out if this is the case. Then again, one of the Deluca boys with their great run and forward pressure might be the way to go as Brock sets up many of their forward thrusts off half back mostly.

Good win in a tough but scrappy game. Poor goal kicking in the 4th again, 6pts but got 4 big ones so got away with it this time. Stevo was sensational in his comeback as was Dela who has such strong hands but his knee seemed to affect his kicking but great goal in the 4th. Really happy to have them back for the finals. Horse & Joyce were great, our whole backline is really solid. Liked the look of Smith but unfortunately he & others who played ok today will prob have to make way for the likes of Hampson, Chris DeLuca, Phelan & McDougall next week, very tough. Hard game next week the ferals on the rebound with god knows how many wc in. We will have to keep cadwalleder in check as his long accurate kicking will kill us, same applys to payne who seems to get loose at will. I think we can do it but will have to make the most of our goal scoring opportunities.

Got some bad news for you boys. Spoke to George Hampson tonight after the game and he has a bad tear in his quad and most unlikely to play again this year. He was a bit dirty on a mis-diagnosis by the club medicos a couple of weeks back who thought it was just a tight quad but turns out after a scan that it is an actual tear which was then aggravated by him playing against Claremont and South.

That was the only real downer on a good day at the club with a great celebration of the 2004 flag with Germo there and only a few players missing such as Priddis, Crowley, Hoody and Beattie. David Munday was there and very chatty and friendly.

Chris Phelan, Chris de Luca, and Andrew McDougall should all be fine for next week.

Subi won the Rodriguez Shield this year for the first time for many years. It's based on the overall performances of the league, reserves and colts teams.

bugger...not happy with that. he appeared to be moving ok around the huddles...on the upside, a good hit out by Delahunty. Given he was a state representative earlier in the year he could be a real handful if he gets up and going during the finals. We'll need to be more careful with ball security next week as our turnovers killed us yesterday. Some of the younger guys like Joyce and LeFanu made some critical errors..also Buddy didn't exactly set the world on fire and will be interesting to see if he gets a run in the 2nd semi. Our backs and mids were good but thought the forwards didn't put enough defensive pressure on the EF backs who appeared to run the ball back out with ease. Chris Deluca back will help out there but as a group think the forwards need to work a bit harder.

A win is a win but both teams very ordinary today, appeared we were a bit fitter in the end and despite a continuation of poor goal shooting we ended up with a comfortable win.

I thought Stevo was sensational first game back, he read the ball beautifully, his anticipation and positioning was first class. I think that extra tall down back is a real bonus going into the finals. Forward line was not great but much better than recent games with Yazza back in the team, he adds that x factor and so hard to match up on, his 3 goals along with 3 from Boland was the difference.

The mids over possessed the ball all day and always 2 or 3 too many handballs to players in poor positions. Our disposal from hand and foot was poor, so many handballs aimed at players feet or wide and kicking continually over the targets heads, would rather see it bounce 3 times in front of the player at least they have a chance to get hold of it. With Stevo burning at CHB it freed up Clanger to spend time in the ruck, up forward and down back but It appears his good form has deserted him a bit, he looked frustrated at times but you cant knock his physicality and endeavour.

If we play with the same skill level next week we will get smashed, we need to get back to the level we played at in both previous wins against the sell-outs. they will step up a level or 2 so we will need to step up even further from our recent poor form.

Plenty of good talls available with Delas return, will be interesting to see how many talls the sell-outs load up with, certainly Sinclair will be their to assist Johnson but will the weags risk Lysett as he will be Cox's replacement next season and a major player for them, lets hope he is held out as he's a goal kicker as well. If the weather is wet as forecast then we need less talls but more bigger bodies mids, important that Chris DeLuca comes back in at the expense of Buddy who didn't show enough to pinch Delucas possy. Chris's defensive work ethic is enormous plus he's good for a couple of goals a game and can run through the mids, he has that fanatical attack on the ball and the man that is needed in finals when your up against top quality hard nuts like Wolf.

So Sunday arvo at Leederville (and Gummy park) it starts ... cant wait!!!
