You can have Sheed your midfield plays harder than he will. Sinclair is a good player and has fitted in very well at EP, he demonstrates great leadership and is a real motivator to our younger reserves and colts players. In other words yes you have every right to feel ripped off he is at EP.

What a great game of footy to watch - The best WAFL game I've seen this season.
The ground was in remarkably good nick considering the game conditions last week.
From the 1st bounce you could tell both teams were switched on. With EP's outs and only 7 WEgirl players in Subi were always a chance.

In the 1st quarter Subi bounced out hard and had the early play and goal. Declan Jackson had his first well deserved league game & will remember his first kick shocker as I think the nerves got to him but to his credit he and young Bestry played their part as the game progressed.
Wheeler, Bristow, Yarran and Horse started the game well with Sinclair, Johnson and Wulff good for the Royals.

Second quarter more good footy with Leishman and Rumba doing well down back, Phelan/Horse and Hilda getting plenty of it with Boland having a purple patch with some great body work chest marks and Deluca boys and Waters having a crack.
The Royals got a goal just before half time with Sinclair the best big man on the ground,Johnson not far behind and good efforts from Howlett,J.Smith who had been well held, A.Smith and Lee and Blee.

The third was always going to be the game changer and you could see the match could go either way. EP looked brilliant early on in the quarter with their smaller players getting the better of Subi's with pure speed and their ruck dominance in hit-out's finally getting them an advantage as Payne,Fraser,Howlett,Lee,Moss and Wulff all getting going and for a while it looked as though EP could not only lead but then run away with the game.
Put your hand up Clancy Wheeler and George Hampson as these two players often the Subi barometer stepped up. Wheeler down back and Hampson pushing up from the forward line and being agressive and taking strong marks.

Subi were steady when the pressure was on and looked to handle the game better.
In the last Subi looked too good and although EP were threatning and never gave in it looked as though Subi had their measure.

For the Royals I liked the games of the two ruckmen - Sinclair and Johnson,Wulff who I have never seen play a bad one,Lee and Blee, both Paynes and Ash Smith although I think he kicks the ball too high.

Subi had no passengers hence the four points - Horsley for mine was BOG with gut running capped off with the match sealer goal at the 15min mark of the last getting the pill off the wing kicking it to a fast leading Yarren who marked, dished off the hands back to the running captain who slotted it through the high diddle diddle !!!
Game Over !!! Wheeler and McDougall were good,Phelan and Bristow who had great ball use for a change as it's not his strong point. Hilda on the other hand had heaps of it but his disposal was shit. He set up his team mates on three occasions with a galant Mahoney nearly KO's again. I think he would be dissapointed in this area of his game although as always he gives 100% and ran all day.For this reason I couldn't put him in the best.

Subi's slick running handball game was at it's best in this match which combined with a great effort from the backline and numerous options up forward gave them the edge. A great team effort. Are they flag fav's - I don't know but with the finals looming and EP still the team to beat when the Weagirls players return they know they can knock off EP and belief is half the battle.

So far so good but Subi could easily drop any of their last games so they best concentrate each week and see if they can hold on to second spot.
If Subi get ahead of themselves they'll be in strife. EP are a good team no doubt and they will get better and be hungry to improve when next they meet - This rivalry ain't over.

Well done to the Ressies and Colts - Scooby Doo !!!

Hep it's gonna happen for sure - everyone's got to brace themselves and have a crack anyway - these are the cards we're dealt ??? Let's hope anyone else can beat them but it would be great if we play well enough to get the chance !!!

lets hope whoever plays east perth in the g f (yes I know I'm jumping the gun), that there is a large crowd to voice their disapproval and root for the wafl side.

No problem, nice to meet you as well. I dont usually like to meet people IRL but after the poor treatment you received from the West Perth supporters last week I wanted you to know Subi supporters are nicer and much more sophisticated. The WAFL can't afford to lose any supporters, there aren't many left!

Good review Chop and a great day with all three grades having comfortable wins.
The boys were switched on and proactive from the first bounce, a bit different from last week when we were very reactive and just fell over the line.

Horse was clearly BOG again, great games from Clanger, what a season he is having and great that he got some recognition in the West today, McDougal again was tireless against the ferals monsters, Brissy as always in and under, Mahoney's 3rd qtr was sensational, when the ferals challenged, he was the driving force with his run and attack on the pill. Hampson started to have a big influence after halftime and ran his opponent ragged, the backline collectively were terrific against some very big bodies, ran the ball out really well, young Jackson in his first game looks a very likely type, big body and some good skills once he settled down, looks a natural replacement for Rumba when he hangs up the boots and Bestry chimed in several times with excellent tapwork and good skills especially in the third qtr when he took on Johnson & Sinclair who would both weigh twice as much but he held his own. Great to see the Deluca's back they add such grunt and skill up forward with their aggressive defensive work and attack on the ball, Chris is the best tackler pound for pound at the club since Ali Picket. the ferals were very wasteful, when you look at the stats they had way more of the ball than we did but due to intense pressure they continually butchered it, not good for a team with over 1/3 full time pro footballers against a bunch of part timers.

All round good team effort which is the only way you'll win or get near the Eagles 2's. I thought the Eagles put the cue back in the rack at about the 18min mark of the last, maybe not wanting to get injured? Loved to hear the feral supporters winging and whining about the umpires, apparently the maggots cost them the game, nothing to do with being out scored in every quarter by a hard running team who played in front all day and made the ball their focus. That usually means you'll get the frees.

Boys have the week off before we meet a vastly improved Tigers outfit who have taken some big scalps lately, we will need to play the same way we did against Eas purf or we could be in trouble.

Great review Chopper. Something I noticed from the game was the amount of spoils made, by both teams but particularly by the TFKNAEP. I guess it says something about the amount of pressure applied?
Chop, I also enjoyed your 'West Coast" taunts in the stand, you have an outstanding voice!
