Fremantle Oval Saturday July 26
LEAGUE 2.05pm
RESERVES 11.25am
COLTS 9.00am

Well, hopefully we can continue our push for a second semi-final spot. We seem to have played alright at Fremantle Oval in the last decade or so.

Looks like Josh DeLuca will at least be playing ressies this week which is great to see.

Might need a back-up ruck - perhaps Jordan Bestry or Sean Bradley - with Stockley out injured unless they bring in a tall defender and use Wheeler as the 2nd ruck with McDougall.

Joycey must be in contention after two good reserves games back. Plenty of others putting their hand up each week.

Hopefully the reserves can carry on pushing the league boys.

Colts struggling a bit obviously right now. Last week we were without Grace, Evans, Creeper, Pearce, McAlister, Bryan, Clark, Walters and Borchet who would all be first choice players when available and that made things tough but the young lads did well. Catalfamo, Lawrence, Williamson, Gerrand, Nylander, Marsh, Judd Woodley, Burnett, Campbell (Grandson of former WP coach Graham), Beverley all stood up despite their inexperience.

Hopefully the likes of Clark, Evans, Borchet, Walters, McAlister and Pearce join them this week and we should be highly competitive. Grace and Creeper are out for the season sadly. While Bryan has been moved onto the senior points list owing to his good form.

Club seems to be in a good place at the moment. Schofield really has done an amazing job getting the league side into a position where we can have a genuine crack at the flag.

I agree LH. I think possibly using Wheeler in the ruck and give young Jackson a crack as his form in the 2's holding down full back has warrented a shot in the league side.

Yeah, sounds like a good idea.

From the little I have seen of Souths this year they haven't really had a strong ruck division this year. Think we could do with McDougall and Wheeler filling in.

In other news, it's a good sign that WCE have rested Lycett this weekend even though he would be on a 14 day break. If he doesn't sign before the end of the year he won't play WAFL finals. Few more will probably be held out as well. Will be great to finish top 2 and get an "away" final at our home ground against a team that has but gutted of their better players.

Yeah with a bit of luck the league and reserves will be able to play their semi-finals on the same day at the same venue. Still a lot of work to do to get there of course.

I agree about trying to give Declan Jackson a game. I don't see much of the ressies La H but I saw all of last week and he looks solid as a rock. Be good to see how he goes. What do you think about him?

Yeah I rate him. Very smart player. Captain of the colts last year from memory.

But it looks like he'll have to bide his time for now.

Well done to Brett Mahoney on his 50th game for us, has developed into one of the better ES recruits and great that he hasn't missed a game due to Bevan's big late hit last week.

Would have liked to see what other big man stocks we have given both Dela and Stocks are out this week, may need it come finals if any of the big blokes go down.
Anyone know how long Dela will be out? It's crucial that he's back and fit for finals, gives us so many options up forward/ruck or on the wing.

The two best full Forwards on display this game in Boland and Saunders, their form will have a say in how this game plays out. I really rate Saunders and if he gets decent supply he can tear a backline apart, may be too quick for Rumba so the mids will have to restrict supply as much as possible.

Sellar, Higgins and Mugumbwa should be able to hold their own in the ruck for us I would have thought.
